I believe Blue-Ice had asked whether she should watch it or not. I did not say - don't watch it or something like that. I asked her to look up the user reviews and then decide for herself.

All I did was post reviews. One of the reasons I'm on this thread is because this was the film supposed to be done by someone I am a fan of. So what is wrong with it if I just want to make sure she didn't miss out on a good film? How can this instigate people to the extent that they ask me to explain WHY I AM POSTING IN THIS TOPIC etc??

I think it's pretty clear but I want to know WHY. It's not like my posting reviews here is going to bring down the opening collections of the film from 12 crore to 7 crore. 😆

Ash hasn't missed out on a good film. Its crap but Kareena shines through this crap. Something Ash never could have done, quite honestly and this is a neutral view.

How's the movie doing?

That's your opinion and I'm fine with it.
Ash got praises even for Action Replayy... so if she could do well in that piece of crap, she could have done well in Heroine as well. But I'm glad she didn't do it.

Let me start out by saying that I typically hate Bhandarkar's and Bhansali's style of filmmaking. They are just too pretentious for me. I have only ever liked Chandni Bar and Khamoshi, respectively. So I did not have much expectation from this film. I went in to see how Bhandarkar has let Kareena down in this one after all that hype and drama. True story. 😆Well...I was right and wrong. The film is a giant pile of crappola to put it quite frankly when you take in the choppy screenplay, the pathetic first half, the pedestrian dialogs, the cheesy character actors and the unnecessary references to Bollywood people. Let's face it, other than us BS folks, no member of the audience would get those snide digs and sneaky lines, so what the heck was the point? Some actors were also pretty horrid. I seriously wanted to strangle the actress that played Arjun's wife! She was so cringeworthy. Heck...Arjun himself was quite pathetic...special mention to the part where he's discussing divorce with this lackluster actress that plays his wife. He convinced me as to why we call him a wooden plank here on BS. Anyway, content wise like I said, it suffers from choppy screen play, scattered characters, weak character development when it comes to anyone other than Kareena's Mahi Arora. Arjun Rampal's character swings from being a dickhead to a sweetheart back to a dickhead to a sweetheart to a victim for no rhyme or reason. My head spinned at his character's erratic behavior.it was more like he suffered from bipolar disorder rather than Mahi Arora. The writing is weak, let's just put it that way.

Nevertheless, I got my money's worth and it is only because Kareena's portrayal of Mahi Arora saved the day. She had the opportunity to enact a gamut of human emotions and psychological states and she did not disappoint on that front. She was good as the bitchy, egoistic top actress and she was absolutely mindblowing at enacting the vulnerable lost babe in woods phase. I thought she was pretty god darn splendid at portraying helplessness and dejection when the adoption request was rejected, also the part where she walks out of Helen's funeral and just walks around lost and terrified was applause-worthy. If you are a Kareena fan, this will hands down be your favorite Kareena film just because you finally get to see her act in every scene. If you are a Kareena hater and say she acted horribly, then let's face it, you're just lying through your teeth.😆 If you are a neutral viewer, you might just be pleasantly surprised by what she does with Mahi Arora.

The other things that were good about this film were characters portrayed by Randeep Hooda, Shahana Goswami, Divya Dutta and Ranvir Shorey. Shorey was really good as the ill-tempered Bengali filmmaker. Who was he playing anyway? An amalgamation of Anurag Kashyap and Ritupo*no Ghosh?

Over all, the film does not bring anything new to the table, it has the typical Bhandarkar elements and cliches like bitchy reporters, manipulative editors, gay designers, shrewed PR people and what have you. But Kareena redeems it to a certain extent. She has carried the entire film on her shoulders for once. So I would say it is a paisa vasool film. This film might flop or it might pick up but at the end of the day Kareena will benefit from it regardless of its fate because she acts brilliantly in a lot of scenes and satisfactorily where she just has to be a flower pot. In short, she does not disappoint. Whatever the verdict may be, she will not lose anything from this film.

I'd give 2.5/5 to the film and 4/5 to Kareena's portrayal of Mahi Arora.

Can't at-least someone in this argument give up? I haven't found any member reviews besides Lensa and like 2 in the beginning since out of the 138 pages at-least 100 of them are full of unnecessary arguing..
