is Aishwariya Rai bachchan an international icon?

I never understood how Aishwariya was an international icon. At some of those international festivals which she attended did the international media refer to her as "unknown". Aishwariya always attended international festivals just to get attention, other actresses during that time didn't care about festivals. Today it's only sonam who gives her competition at festivals, other actresses at least the top actresses do not give a damn about hollywood.

Also in the movies which she was part of in hollywood didn't do well and people didn't recognize her at all.

So on what basis is she an international icon? 😕

Her hollywood stunt was unsuccessful.

Was the reason behind why she was so desperately trying to make a mark in hollywood that big directors here didn't sign her? karan johar, raju hirani, yash chopra, sooraj barjatya and the likes never did a movie with her, so I think that's a valid reason why she tried her luck in hollywood and failed completely.

well the films that she signed possibly brought her to fame even they were unsuccessful, also she endorsed many international brands that helped a lot but its not that big to rave abt

however

we all mock ashwariya in rather way or so, but ash has defintely done a very big deed in her life that would defintely bless her, she has donated her eyes. i was watching the old doordarshan deepalita ad and i realized that Aish has done really done a blessed job which she deserves an applause !

She is India's most recognized and famous star in the world, along with being the face of Bollywood to the West. She was instrumental in making Bollywood go global.

Being an international beauty queen (Miss World), the youngest Indian to be waxed at Madame Tussauds (and Musee Grevin), having statues in New York, London, Blackpool, Paris. Being felicitated by France government with the second biggest award in France, the Netherlands government naming the Tulip flower in their country after her, having a place in Dubai Hall of fame, being the first and youngest Indian to be a jury member in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, inaugurating it and having her movies screened there, being featured on the Guinness book of world records, constantly being voted in most beautiful/hottest/sexiest list polls in the world, being invited more than once to the Oprah Winfrey show, being invited to Oscars twice, being the first Indian actor to be on the cover of TIME magazine, also only Indian actor to be listed under TIME magazine's 100 most influential people in the world, being the global envoy of the United Nations, being the international FACE of the biggest brands like L'Oreal, Longines, Lux - there are too many reasons. She has done our nation proud enough number of times.

It's not about "Other actresses not giving a damn about Hollywood." Had they landed a decent film they would have ran to the West long back.. but Aishwarya wasn't like that. Despite a successful entry into Hollywood through Bride and Prejudice, she still didn't move to LA. She remained in India giving preference to Indian cinema - even if the biggest of Hollywood stars like Will Smith were running after her to make movies with them. Till date you see Hollywood icons mentioning Aishwarya in high regard.

Forbes magazine called her the most bankable Indian star in Hollywood - ahead of Khans and other Indian male actors. Despite being a female in a male dominated industry, despite being boycotted by the biggest stars in her home country, she actually went to on to become a bigger name than them all. So yes, she is an international icon no matter how much her detractors try to pull her down.

P.S. "karan johar, raju hirani, yash chopra, sooraj barjatya and the likes never worked with her" - That's FALSE. All of those filmmakers approached her for her films. KJo for KKHH, Hirani for Munnabhai MBBS, Yash Chopra actually screentested her successfully even before she won Miss World and even approached her for DTPH and Veer Zaara, Sooraj Barjatya offered her HSSH. It's an entirely different thing that she chose not to work with them. And given that other than Hirani, none of them are great directors, she didn't have much to lose.

When was I trying to prove something? 😕 You said certain directors didn't work with her and I said they offered her movies and there is proof for the same, for example Yash Chopra speaking in video, no PR VR.

I said India's, no wonder you had to remove the word to make it sound "funny." Oh well, as I said her detractors can continue pulling her down as they have been doing for the past 20 years, she will remain undeterred.

P.S. You can't even spell her name right, how did I think you'll even get other her facts right. Silly of me. 🤪

Aishwarya is no international icon. To be an international icon one should be known to the ordinary man on the street by people of many countries who have no South Asian roots. Ash's so called international fame was a PR generated ruse to show that she was busy with something bigger than Bollywood when she was boycotted in Bollywood for her unprofessionalism. Many such out of work 'stars' used this tactic in the mid-2000s to cover up the lack of work.
As for going to Cannes, modelling for international brands etc...she represented India there and not the world as whole. She was a local brand ambassdor who was taken to an international platform. If there is a truly international icon from India related to the film industry it is Freida Pinto.

Read what I said then come here and give us your outburst! All of those directors never said a word about aish being offered their films, it was only her PR which claimed so.

You said the the world's and for your kind information I can put your whole statement here, so get your facts right:

"She is India's most recognized and famous star in the world"

I can't get how one can claim she is most famous star in the world, one must indeed be delusional to claim that😆

Grow up dont' get so abusive that you go to a personal level and start attacking me. so stay on topic and discuss the fat queen aishwariya and do not get personal just because I don't agree with your delusional thoughts.

ABUSING and ATTACKING? 😲 Where did I do that? You're calling me "delusional" for stating my opinions and are asking me to "grow up" when I correct your facts, and are saying I'm the one attacking? You're the one calling Aishwarya fat and are saying don't get personal? LMAO.

No it wasn't her PR I have some Aishwarya's and some directors quotes about the movies.

And, *FACEPALM* I didn't say the World's most famous. I said "India's most recognized star in the world." Read it again.

You read your comment again and then come here and talk. You attacked and bashed me. You started getting personal just because I didn't agree with you:
