I was surprised at Shyam and Mamaji pronouncing the 'kh' sound correctly, it is Urdu so I can see how it is not predominant but wonder how those two mastered it and not anyone else.
Agree on Barun's Dilli munda lingo, it also comes with a Punjabi accent at times.

"Kh" sound is Urdu...but is widespread in Lucknow region...rarely will you find anyone mispronouncing it there.

Sanaya is outstanding...she has picked up all the sheen-khaaf so well and the best part is that it does not come across as rehearsed.

@ Shiela: I agree wit you on the marathi origins of the actresses in the show...Deepali is pathetic in terms of Lucknawi diction. She is even known to have lapsed into Khushi too ye kar le...as has the new Garima...the original was fab! You only have to go to Lata/Asha to see how well they have picked up the language ...who can forget Lataji's "Bekas pe karam kijeye sarkare-e-Madina " aur the Umrao Jaan ghazals by Ashaji? They are all Marathi speaker...

Braj Bhasha though similar, but is not the same as this dialect...which is more Avadhi. In BB, they would say...aayo, gayo...
