Chapter 1

Kapoor Residence… Afternoon..

 

Bansi kaka: Madam wo.. dadi ji ki tabyat kharab lag rahi hai.. jaldi aaiye.. Wo baar baar saab aur Ram baba ka naam le rahi hai.. Jaldi aaiye..

KK: Arre.. aadhe ghante pehle toh maa theek thhi.. ab achanak kya hua hai?? Aap jaiye aur doc ko phone kijiye.. Aur unhe bhi hula lijiye..Mai maa ke kamre me jati hu..

KK rushed to dadi's room.. she was sitting on the bed.. breathing hard.. her hand over her heart, as if it was aching.. like she was about to lose her life..

Dadi: Krishna beta.. aacha hua tu.. tu aa gayi..Amar kahaan hai..

KK: Maa wo kamre me hai.. Bansi kaka bulane gaye hai.. aap shaant rahiye..maine doctor o bhi bula liya hai..

Amarnath (AK) came rushing into the room..

AK: Maa.. maa kya ho gaya aapko?

Dadi: Kuch nahi puttar.. bas koi mujhe lene aaya hai..

Looking towards the sky..

Dadi: Aayi mai.. aayi.. bas apne poore parivaar ko ek saath dekh lu.. sabko hasi khushi dekhu..

AK: Maa.. aap  kis se baat kar rahe ho? Maa

Dadi: Kuch nahi puttar.. bas ye yamraaj khada hai na.. usko bol rahi hu..

KK: Maa.. aap aise mat boliye.. Arre aap ko toh both jeena hai ab.. apne parpote ka chehra bhi dekhna hai..

Dadi: Oye.. Krishna.. Mera golu aur meri chotti kahaan hai?

AK: Maa ram ko mai abhi call karta hu.. aur nuts toh maa college trip pe gayi hai…

AK moved out of the room and took out his phone..

AK: Ram beta.. utha phone.. beta..

 

Ram driving his Car without a seatbelt when a traffic police stops him..

Ram: Sir zara side me aaiye na..

Police: Arre.. Side me kya hai.. tu mujhe rishvat dene ki koshish kar raha hai?

Ram: Arre nahi sir.. beech me khadi karunga gaadi toh traffic jam ho jayegi na.. look at the size of the thing.. isiliye bola side me aane ko.. meri daadi ne sikhaya hai mujhe ki rishwat dena gunah hai.

Police: Toh apni daadi ki har baat mana karo..

Ram: Agar mai daadi ki har baat manta na, abhi tak 7 bacchon ka baap hota..

Police: Kya?

Ram: Kuch nahi..

When his phone rang..

Ram: Haan papa..

AK: Beta dadi ki tabyat theek nahi hai.. tu jaldi se ghar aaja..

Ram: Oh shit… mai bas aaya papa..

Soon Ram reached home and rushed to daadi's room..

Ram: Dadi.. dadi..

Dadi: Oye golu.. ethe aa.. baith mere paas

Ram went and sat beside his dadi..

Ram: Dadi aapko kuch nahi hoga..

Dadi: Oye puttar.. Kabhi na kabhi toh jana hi hai mujhe.. Bas ek khwaish thi..

Ram: Dadi aap jo bolo.. mai karunga.. I promise..

Dadi sat up straight and in full energy..

Dadi: Toh puttar aaj shaam jayega na Coffee house?

Ram: Ji dadi.. par kyu?? Wait wait.. Kahin ladki ka chakkar toh nahi.. Aur dadi aap.. Aap natak..

Dadi: ye khhotya.. aur kya karu mai? Mere jane ka baad shaadi karega? Chal chup chap se ladki dekhne jaa aaj.. Samjha.. Warna mai sach me..

Ram: Accha ok.. chala jaunga..

KK: Maa aap itni der se natak? Kya maa aap bhi..

Ak: Maa merit oh jaan hi nikal gayi thi..

Dadi: Iss golu ko raazi karvaneka yehi ek tareeka tha.. toh maine kar dia..

KK: Dhanya ho aap maa..

All of them laughed and Ram left irritated..

 

While all this was happening at KM, this was happening in TOFEL classes..

The phone rang and Priya answered it..

Priya: Hello.. haan Priya Sharma bol rahi hu..accha aap. Mr.Desai.. Aap me himmat thi yahaan call karne ki? Itna guts hai aapme ki aap fir se yahhan call kare.. Aap ko ek baar bola toh samaj nahi aaya ki yahaan paise deke admission nahi hota? Rishwat se baat nahi banegi.. Apne bte ko boliye padhai kare.. sirf marks yahaan admission dilwa sakta hai.. samjhe.. aur dobara aapne call kia toh mujhse bura koi nahi hoga.. samjhe..

 

Her tone in this convo changing from sarcastically sweet to a fiery fighter.. The guy at the other end got scared and disconnected the call.. and priya sat at her desk, her hand on her head.. She was still irritated..

Haresh: Hi Priya.. Mai tumhare lie chocolate laya hu..

Priya (still in a sarcastically sweet tone): Mere lie? Accha?

Harish: haan.. for u.. mujhe naa both pasand hai jab um gussa hoti ho..

Priya: toh ab tumpe karu gussa?

Harish: Haan karo na.. jab b tumhe gussa aye na, mujhe call karo.. mai chup karke tumhari saari baatein sununga.. Ye lo chocolate..

Priya took it and silently moved out from there.. She went to the teacher's library.. and there she saw a collegue of her's talking over the phone..

Collegue(COL): Munmun kya kar rahe ho? Khana khaya? Avvha kha rhe ho? Kya hua? Gale me atak gaya? Upar dekho.. haan.. ab shaant hua.. Kitne sweet ho na tum.. meri har baat mante ho.. chooo chweet..

Priya got even more irritated at that..

Priya: Hello.. Pati se baat kar rahi ho?

Col: Jaanu rakhti hu.. khadoos aayi hai.. bye.. Haan..

Priya: Mujhe iss chapter ke notes ready chaiye.. Aadhe ghante me..

Col: Ok.. kar dungi..

Priya: Aur haan please concentrate.. Bacchon ke future ka sawal hai.. Apne pati se fir mat chipak jana..

Col: Haan meri maa..

Priya: Waise.. Ek baat bata.. Tu apne pati ko munmun bulati hai..

Col: Haan aur pata hai.. Who mujhe chinchin bulata hai..

Priya: Ek baat bolu? Agar mai tera pati hoti aur tu mujhe munmun bulati, yoh mai kab ka tujhe chod ke chali jati.. Its so cheesy.. chee..

Saying that, she walked out.. There she met Harish again..

Harish: Arre Priya, tere dad aaye hai.. princi ke cabin me hai..

Priya: Papa.. yahaan?

In The Princi's Cabin

Princi: I have to tell you Mr.Sharma, she's the most efficient teacher we have on our panel.. Extremely hardworking.. I'm proud of her..

Sudheer: Haan that she is.. But when it comes to marriage.. Uff.. Do you know she's rejected 70 men till now.. and today she's supposed to meet another one..

Princi: How many?? 70??

Right at the moment, Priya came into the cabin..

Priya: Papa.. Aap yahaan?

Sudheer: Haan beta.. wo princi ne kaha chai k lie ruk jao.. toh mai.. suna hai yahaan chai acchi milti hai..

Princi: Haan priya beta.. maine hi kaha.. Waise, tum ne bataya nahi ki tumhe aaj jaldi jana hai?

Priya: Nahi sir.. Mujhe jaldi nahi jana.. Mujhe next chapter ke notes taiyaar karne hai..

Princi: Wo toh hota rahega.. Par aaj tumhara kahi aur hona zaruri hai..

Priya gave a stare to sudheer.. And said Ok sir.. May we leave now?

 

Back to KM..

Ram: Maa.. maa aap mera closet bandh kar ke andar kya kar rahi hai?

KK: Tu chup karke bahr wait kar.. Mai jo dungi, aaj tu wohi pehnega.. samjha?

KK came out holding a pair of Jeans and a black tee in her hand..

Ram: Maa ye? Nahi..

KK: Arre kya nahi? Tujhe pata nhi hai tu isme kitna handsome lagta hai.. Apni maa ki baat nahi manega?

Ram: Ok maa.. Pehn lunga.. Waise.. mujhe milna kis se hai?

 

In sometime.. Both Ram and Priya.. Ready and looking fab.. Standing at the doorstep, ready to see what destiny has in store for them next..
