Agreed. Heroine trailer was NOT as gripping as TDP.
No arguments there.
TDP was very cleverly packaged and clearly outlined what to expect in the film. And like you said, introduced each principle character very clearly - Vidya, Naseeudin, Tushar, Emran.

Heroine's trailer is just KAREENA KAREENA KAREENA.
There is no introduction to Arjun, Randeep, Shahana Goswami, Mughda.
Its just Kareena Kapoor.

ANd not necesarrily Eraser. Even today if Saat Khoon Maaf had released with THAT EXACT trailer, it would have flopped.
Its too dark for audiences. Its nothing about audiences being more open. Nothing's changed in that regard.
Wrap an actress up in a white saari in a dark trailer, and the masses will still turn the other way.

You think the masses care about such topics, dark themes, intellect? they just want entertainment.

LIke put Salman in a dark film with an intellectual topic, and it probably wont run. But hey, shirtless Salman in an action packed role with masala, they'll lap it up

exactly even fashion's trailer was much better...here its all kareena only...there are much better actors than kareena like Govind NAmdeo, and Shahana Goswami and they get nothing in the trailer. and i guess this is the reason the trailer has got the mixed response. but i think it will get better in the NEXT TRAILER HOPEFULLY !

But that' what i'm saying. Those actors are brilliant, but the masses do NOT connect with them.

You just flaunted a Kareena Kapoor in halkat jawaani, and the trailer crossed over a million views in 2 days.
Enough said.
Its about how you package the trailer. Now if the trailer had been more grim and dark, I doubt it would have garnered this many views or clicked with the masses.

its really funny that Youtube has been mocked everyday on websites for its cliched presentations and video layouts. If a movie premiere comes out on YouTube, people get really annoyed ' kya yaar eski paas paise nahi to youtube par release kar di movie' examples - striker and Johnny mera naam.

But when people have to show their rage for a particular piece...LOOK THE TRAILER GOT 2 MILLION VIEWS ON YOUTUBE MAN...that's a great deal 🤣

these days getting big views on youtube isn't a big deal. UTV motion pictures channel is a promoted one on youtube and official partner as well. check the video views of the channel itself. they already hyped the trailer so much that it get views..

I also know that Madhur has chosen to go 'MASSY' with the trailer because he needs to get his producer earn from the movie...what i want to say is..that the movie is too much overhyped. much overhyped than TDP. sure it can work in favour of the movie and also against it.

Well sure, you can then overlook youtube, but twitter trended with Kareena thrice this month.

Once when the posters hit, then twice after the trailer. Not saying that proves anything, but then SOMETHING worked. I've checked up on the WOM, and most of it is quite positive.
30% though is skepticism against Bhandarkar.

these are just speculations...

what we usually see, we react on those...when a film flops we take it like it had to flop. but sometimes films of the same genre can work well too.

SKM was itself a bad movie and Vishal himself admitted it...when people entered the hall they wanted to see something out of the box but what they saw was one woman killing her seven husbands..people were expecting a twist...also SKM never had a great musical score too...if i am wrong that how did Kaminey work wasn't it dark too...it had blockbuster music as well, shahid kapoor the flop actor, his career got a relief from this one.

IF SKM's WOM had been Good people have defintely turned up for it like KAHAANI,

and yeah coming to heroine i don't think anyone was expecting a dark and grim trailer...UTV motion pictures can't risk it again...but the trailer could have been better since mostly MADHUR'S movie trailers comes out the best of the year. Fashion's was really amazing

You're looking at it from the point of view of a Kareena fan,so the trailer attracts you, because you're happy to see just Kareena and nobody else in the trailer. But for others, the trailer just gives away the whole story of the film, which in turn gives them a Deja Vu of The Dirty Picture. If for example, only the trailer of TDP would have released,no one would compare both the films, because the trailer of TDP was packed in such a way that the story of the film wasn't revealed at all.Now that people have seen the film, especially the downfall of Silk, people think the trailer of Heroine bears resemblence to TDP,especially the concluding part, from where Kareena starts freaking out.I remember during TDP release, many people felt the conclusion of TDP was a lot like Fashion.

The thing I feel is wrong with the movie is,Madhur is trying to project Kareena as the Heroine in the same way he has projected Priyanka in Fashion or Milan has projected Vidya in TDP.Not all Heroines are so in your face, isn't it?If Madhur wouldn't have included those fiery dialogues like the one during the press meet or the ek randi ke chaar yaar one,and give a new dimension to the character of Kareena,it would be better.

But forget how the film itself was. I'm talking about the opening. The first day.
I mean, people barely bothered to go in and give the film a chance. It was a select sector that was pulled towards the dark, gritty theme.
The masses just ignored it. That's why the opening was so low. I'm not even talking about the content itself.

Again SB, I'm not saying the trailer was epic. I just analyzed it and said that it was not at all packaged well.
All it flaunted was Kareena.
So I say, lets see if that's enough. Lets see if flaunting just a Kareena Kapoor without a coherent storyline is enough?
The views are staggering, the hype is also high. Lets see what happens now.

Ideally, you can flaunt male actors like Sharukh, Salman, Aamir in any kinda trailer, and people still throng to see the film.
I wanna now see if Kareena has a solid enough support in the janta to go see what she can do when all they get from a trailer is Kareena.

well it wasn't supposed to get a great opening either...i guess everyone knows that it wasn't inclined towards the masses and more for multiplex audience, its the filmmakers choice after all
