Do you really think people would prefer to sleep on the roads as opposed to a house if they had a choice let alone a 70 year old frail woman? Salman who has been born and brought up in India should have better sense than to issue such an ignorant statement. Period. There is nothing glorified about what he said. Trust me, if a hollywood celebrity had said the same thing, he would be bashed to no end on every news channel possible. He was a total insensitive moron when he said that.

By reading your post..I dont think you live in India.

Anyone who sleeps on the road knowing the kind of idiotic drivers and other hazards that could happen, in India... is foolish.

A person must look after himself. This is India, people outside are sick, pathetic, inhumane, careless...being a beggar and sleeping in a place where you are prone to accidents is UTTERLY FOOLISH!
I dont think you know the kind and how the traffic moves here. If you had known that, you would have a balanced opinion on this. I KNOW what sort of drivers exist in India cos I drive and enounter them every single day.
After saying all this, the blame, undoubtedly goes on the driver... he should've been careful.
Now, coming to Salman - what should he say? "Beggars, sleep where ever you want, the traffic will make it's own way" ???
This brings me to the pathetic policemen! They should see to it that beggars dont sleep in accident-prone areas or roads!!!

Did you blame the homeless people? I have only been following your proposition. So, you're responsible for making me blame those cute innocent homeless people. And now you're unfairly blaming me. 😭

Did I claim that anywhere in this thread? I thought members have the right to give their own opinion, and just because yours are different than mine does not mean you can take a dig at me.
But I want you to give your opinion. 😲 I have no opinion of my own, I just want to agree with yours. You're intelligent, you'll definitely have good opinions, and I can follow them without worrying. 😃

Homeless people don't have home. That's why they **Edited: Beep** live on the road. why the **Edited: Beep** is it so hard for anyone to understand this?
common sense people. Homeless people live all over the places from roads, under bridges, and woods. Homeless=NO HOME.

Also, Salman's comment is **Edited: Beeping** pathetic. He's a **Edited: Beeping & more abuses**. Why don't you put all the homeless people in your own home? it's not like Indian government and Indian citizen taxes can pay for shelter.

and about putting all the homeless people in their own home, yeah sure you start the good deed, do the action, rather then the talk and we follow you :D

What's hard to understand? It's that they don't have a home. They can't sleep at someones place, they can't sleep on the road. Where would they sleep at? are you going to build a shelter for them? is salman going to build a shelter since he doesn't want them to sleep on the road?

-How about you, I, and Salman all follow this good deed.

I don't have to live in India or the slums to distinguish an insensitive statement from an intelligent one. You perhaps are a Salman fan and thus can sympathize with him. I'm indifferent to him. I don't hate or like him hence I can see the difference between blatant insensitivity and sincerity behind his "concern". There was a better way he could have put forth his opinion on this. He could have said, "it is unfortunate that our country has forced the downtrodden to sleep on the sidewalks. As such, an incident like this is unavoidable unless the government does something about providing the homeless a shelter" instead of "they need to stop sleeping on the sidewalk". I mean W*F. News channels here would have crucified had a celeb said that on here. But of course, India has still miles to go when it comes to being sensitive about other people's social statuses.

The latter sounds pathetic. Celebrities have PR for exactly that purpose... to help them make well-informed, intelligent statements. But no...Salman sounds like a dufus because perhaps he is one naturally.
