London: Harry Potter author JK Rowling has sparked a betting frenzy by hinting that the teen wizard may die in her last book, as Potter fans are wagering on who will kill him.
"The phones have not stopped ringing since JK said Harry might be killed off," Rupert Adams, spokesman for bookies William Hill, was quoted by The Sun, as saying.
"Most of the early money has been for Professor Snape at 5/2 and Draco Malfoy at 6/1," he added.
While others in the frame include Harry's oldest foe Lord Voldemort, red-hot favourite at 4/5, Ron Weasley at 6/1 and Hagrid at 25/1.
"If Harry survives, all bets will be void and the stake money returned. We are praying keen Potter fans haven't worked it out and fleece us" Adams said.
