Nowadays, in many serials they are showing in-laws trying to get their widowed or divorced bahu remarried and get settled in life. e.g. to name a few:

Balika Vadhu - Anandi's in-laws trying to get her married to Shiv

Punar Vivah - Arti's in-laws from her first marriage did her kanyadan and married her off to Yash

Yehan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli - Abha and her in-laws are trying to find a new husband for her widowed sister-in-law (bhabhi), Shaili.

There could be other serials too...

However, this is so nice too see that not all in-laws are plotting and trouble makers. There are good ones too who really do not differentiate between their daughters and daughters-in-law. Seems like the numbers of good and supportive in-laws are increasing on screen.

I just hope, in real life too these numbers increase, so that no girl is burned for dowry, no girl is tortured and thrown out of her sasural, no marriage is broken by the MIL poisoning husband's mind.
