Part 10:

khushi was sitting in her bedroom, thinking about what happened today, how arnav became his new boss, what took place in his private room. Every word he said, everything he did was coming back to her. "I never meant those words...what we shared was special" these were the words that sounded so true today; every word he said had conviction, a truth. Has she taken all of it wrong? Is this all has been a misunderstanding all along?

Arnav couldn't sleep; her tears were slicing his heart over n over again. Today he felt how wrong everything has gone, she deserve someone who will look after her the way he hasn't, the way he couldn't. She deserves someone who will love him, who will care for him, who will look after her in a way that she will not cry ever in her life.

If this was a misunderstanding, then also nothing can be done. They have come too far; lavanya loves him n khushi will not come between them.

Khushi deserves someone better, n arnav will not ruin her life by seducing her. He will be far away from her.

Next day, khushi n arnav came to the office at the same time; they entered the elevator at the same time. They smiled to each other but there was an awkward silence between them. Suddenly khushi's cell ranged, n she picked it up;

"ya lavanya" khushi said.

Arnav stared at her when she said lavanya. Then again he saw in front. The lift stopped n some people came inside.

"khushi, I have talked to ASR, we all are meeting for dinner today at my house" lavanya said from the other end.

Khushi saw arnav for a second n than again concentrated on her call.

"lavanya, I don't think so, I am busy. I have loads of work pending" khushi said. Arnav could hear her, she was lying, she just didn't want to come to the dinner.

"Thanks for understanding" khushi ended the call while the lift opened again n arnav and khushi rushed out.

The week went by like this; arnav n khushi didn't talk unless it was professional. There was a big conference the next week n anjali raizaada was supposed to be in the conference. Khushi has never met her, never seen her pic. She just knew that anjali was older sister of arnav n also sometimes attend conferences n handle work.

Arnav was busy with all the work of the upcoming conference but he couldn't for a second remove khushi from his mind. Her delectable body, her smile, her voice, he was missing everything. They both talked but occasionally. It was getting difficult to work with her n not to be with her.

Khushi, in her cabin was busy working on her designs when someone knocked. Khushi looked up. A beautiful smiling lady was standing in black trousers n white shirt. Khushi by her presence can tell that she was a friendly n a good natured person.

"Can I come in" the girl asked smilingly.

"ya, sure" khushi said smilingly.

"Actually, I want to meet arnav" the lady said taking the front chair.

Another girlfriend of arnav's, khushi thought wearily'..but she doesn't look like one.

"Ya sure ma'am, do you have appointment?" khushi asked, knowing how busy arnav is these days.

"Di?" a surprised voice came from behind the lady.

Khushi startled at the voice n stood up instantly, arnav was standing there in his usual handsome self with black suit n white shirt.

Di? Khushi could not register at first but then she suddenly saw the lady standing up n arnav moving forward n hugging her.

"Di'..when do you came? Why didn't you tell me?" arnav said hugging his Di, his features suddenly very soft n loving towards the lady.

Lavanya had mentioned arnav's Di, but she couldn't recollect the name''what was the name? khushi was wondering when suddenly khushi heard her name.

"khushi'..khushi" arnav was calling her n his Di was looking at her with a sweet smile.

"ya" khushi finally said coming back from her thoughts.

"khushi, this is my Di, anjali" ;

"Hello" khushi managed to say, still processing the fact that arnav can be this nice to someone.

"Hello khushi, I guess, you must be arnav's one of the associates?" anjali said with a bright smile n twinkling eyes.

Khushi nodded at anjali n added;

"It's very nice meeting you ma'am"

"same here dear, but please call me anjali"

Arnav was liking the fact that anjali n khushi met n look friendly with each other; he doesn't know why but this meeting seemed important to him.

"Ma'am, I am sorry, anjali, will you have some tea or coffee?" khushi asked picking up the receiver to order something for anjali.

"Ya, I will love to have tea but right now I have to go to shantivan, I am really tired" anjali said n khushi noticed how anjali was looking really exhausted.

"Ya sure" khushi said wondering how different both the siblings were; arnav was a confident, rude n arrogant businessman while anjali really looked calm, patient nfriendly;

Arnav n anjali started moving out of cabin, talking to each other about anjali's trip when anjali looked back at khushi n said;

"khushi, why don't you come to shantivan today for dinner? I will love to know you more''we will talk n I will also have a company" anjali looked at khushi having an expectation that khushi will come n not refuse her offer.

"Chote, you can also call lavanya" anjali said to his brother before khushi could make an excuse.

"Ya, sure, n anyways, la n khushi are best friends" arnav said to his Di, giving her the info n smirking.

"that's even better''then it's final arnav n I will be waiting for u n lavanya" anjali again turned to khushi n this time khushi couldn't do anything but say yes.

"so meet you at dinner."anjali said leaving the office.

"I will be waiting for dineer, it will be special" arnav said in his husky voice smirking at khushi n following his di.

Khushi shuddered at arnav's voice n his statement, something fluttered in khushi's stomach at the thought of today's special dinner n suddenly she could feel color rising in her cheeks.
