He left her. He actually left her.
Khushi found this difficult to comprehend. The fact that after she had poured her heart out to him, begged him to listen to her, he still left. The love of her life... Everything they had been through just vanished. Nothing that happened between them held any importance to him. She was nothing to him.
No. Khushi didn't believe that. No matter how much he said that she made no difference to his life, his eyes betrayed him. He wanted to believe her. Did she blame him for thinking she lied? No. She should have told him herself, before he could misunderstabd everything.
She knew that thinking about it would just cause her more pain, but how could she not? The man she loves more than life itself has decided that he cannot trust her.
And what is love without trust? He can love her just as much as she loves him, but that image of her and Shyam was ingrained on his brain. In trying to protect everyone else, she had unintentionally broken his trust. The trust of the one who mattered most to her. She had no one but herself to blame. If only I had told him the day I had found out... she scorned herself, fuming at the fact that her actions caused him to think so low of her.
Khushi didn't have the strength to stand any more. Her knees buckled and she fell to the floor. The tears had dried. Why? Why could she not cry anymore? Her heart was aching so badly, the pain was unbearable, yet she couldn't cry. Her breath came in sharp, shallow gasps as he occupied her thoughts once again. Flashbacks... Their fights, their passionate moments, everything. She longed for him to come back to her. She longed to be in his arms.
She saw the plane fly overhead, and the pain in her heart increased with every second. It was over. It was all over. There was nothing left now. He will return, and in a couple of months they'll get divorced. He'll never want to see her face again.
All of these thoughts tortured her. Her head felt light, a huge contrast to her heart. All of a sudden, everything went black.
