I wanted to ask that did Sati really have a sister called Vijaya

She had many sisters, but as far as my knowledge goes there was no Vijaya in them

According to Puranas, Daksha had 24 daughter from his wife Prasuti and another 60 from his wife Panchajani / Asakni (Virini).

According to Vishnu Purana and Padma Purana, Daksha and his wife Prasuti had 24 daughters. The names of these 24 daughters are Sraddha (faith), Lakshmi (prosperity), Dhriti (steadiness), Tushti (resignation), Pushti (thriving), Medha (intelligence), Kriya (action, devotion), Buddhi (intellect), Lajja (modesty), Vapu (body), Santi (expiation), Siddhi (perfection), Kirtti (fame), Khyati (celebrity), Sati (truth), Sambhuti (fitness), Smriti (memory), Priti (affection), Kshama (patience), Sannati (humility), Anasuya (charity), Urjja (energy), with Swaha (offering), and Swadha (oblation).

Of these 13 were married to Dharma are, Sraddha, Lakshmi, Dhriti, Tushti, Pushti, Medha, Kriya, Buddhi, Lajja, Vapu, Santi, Siddhi, Kirtti. The other 11 are Khyati married to Bhrigu, Sati to Shiva(Bhava), Sambhuti to Marichi, Smriti to Angiras, Priti to Pulastya, Kshama to Pulaha), Sannati to Kratu, Anasuya to Atri, Urjja to Vasishtha, Swaha to Agni, and Swadha to Pitris

According to Matsya Purana, Daksha and his wife Panchajani(daughter of Virani) had 60 daughters

leh vehle people, envi just to create a drift between sati and shiv, they're showing a fake characters

this is not a lovey dovey drama, this is a historic drama so they should kee guessing and speculations to a bare minimum

although my mum said that someone did lead to shiv and sati's anban, like one thing led to another etc and finally sati cme back to daksh's place, then someone was getting married in their house, then shiv was invited and he was insulted, and then sati devout herself in fire...now my mum studied in indian schools so mjust have been taught in hindi classes...dont know if this is true or not but yh she told me the story went something like this..

but i hope this vijaya just goes and drowns herself in the river@ argh

Now I have asked all over my family and even asked a pundit-ji in my neighbourhood and all say the same - there is no such Vijaya - she is made up character which has us all confused and 😡!

I guess she is there for adding little bit of spice or drama, but really the story has lasted thouand and thousand of years without her and I think we will all forget her very fast!😆

So...no vijay for Vijaya...she is only helping her pitaji move ever closer to life as goat😊

Thanks for responding. Yes there was no Vijaya . There was Diti who was the mother if Hiranakha and Hiranyakashyap (Father if Pralhad). She was slightly aggresive but we cant call her evil. Diti was always jealous of Aditi who was devmata and mother of Indra , Surya etc, but its no where mentioned in the scriptures that she had any animosity with Sati

That's OK..We have already agreed that the serial has deviated a lot from the Puranic legends..Haven't we? As long as they don't mess up things I am fine.

Confused over what?

They cant really show Sati's real sisters had animosity with her. So they have created a fictitious one😆
