So my fears of the new director are pretty much confirmed ... All the subtlety, the nuances are vanquished with a sledge hammer ...

We now have a regular tv hero in love who bashes people, sits around and has flashbacks and needs to be told the "definition" of love like a school going boy rather than a grown man that he is.

what is this love-shove ? ... Why would mohan fall in love with mrs vyaas ? ... is there any logic to it ? ... Given the nature and scope of their interactions he may feel respectful , admire her, or maybe even feel attracted ... but what is this going full on alpha male ?

guru's interactions before with mohan were teasing, fun, always hinting on to something ... but today, it was like a lesson on love ... when you do A, B, C it means you are in L, O, V, E ... have the CVs conveniently forgotten that Mohan has been in love before ? he doesn't need to be schooled in what love feels like ... he knows it and has suffered greatly for it

what is with the hazaar flash backs ?

Prateik is just creepy ... but he is not even intelligent creepy ... he is just stupid ... what kind of villain, stand around in his office and pretends to pose with the heroine in his arms?

When did Megha turn into those preachy tv heroines *head desk* ... the kind that always talked about humanity, morality, jazbbaat etc etc etc ... the best part about megha was that she did not need long dialogues to show what a moral person she was ... it was somehow always conveyed with her attitude ... what is this lamba chauda bhaashan about finding the people in the story while mohan looked to awestruck like he was just about to jump out of the chair and kiss the ground she walked on ...

On the positive side, the humour quotient of the show has obviously upped ... mohan massaging prateik was hilarious ... the new director obviously has his forte - and that is fun scenes ... that is great ... but sadly all the things that drew me to the show are slowly falling apart ...

i know a lot of people are loving the new look ... but sadly it isn't working for me ... i thought NBTNMKK and I were going to have a long term romance ... but sadly it was just a short affair ...

I agree 2 sm extent...i didnt know der was a director change or nything bt srsy wid the subtlety gone it wudn't take 2 long fr d fascination 2 wear off...basically i hate d pratik turn in d show...n i luved megha wen she was quite and the way she was...i still love her but i think they are going out of the way to show how much "imaandaar n all" she is

Mohan was always righteous kinda guy when it comes to protecting a woman's dignity. Even when he unknowingly caused Megha heartburn and humiliation by publishing her marriage ad in the newspaper, he defended her honor when a guy was trying to cross his line in the market. Besides he did not bash this guy at the office. He only made it clear that he will not tolerate any trash talk against Mrs. Vyas. If showing courage to speak up against trash talk is not a realistic portrayal of real world guys out there, I am actually very scared for the innocent girls out there in this bad, bad world.

Secondly, Guru is Mohan's conscience. If his teasing leads Mohan to introspect on his growing interest in Mrs. Vyas, I wouldn't necessarily call it subtlety being thrown out of the window. The story cannot be stuck on the same point. I think the evolution of Mohan's character is well shown. If he starts acting all looney, like jumping in the water to prove his point etc, then I will call it preposterous! For now I'd rather call it changing seasons... like Guru said.

Thirdly, yes I hated what they did to Prateek's character. I wanted him and Prerna to play a positive influence on Megha's life. I dislike stories where they over-burden the female protagonist with all the problems of the world and the hero plays knight in shining armor. I dislike when they show the obvious like Mohan being affected every time Megha utters a syllable. I dislike stereotypical characters like Renu and also pendulum characters like MIL.

Yes this show has its flaws. It is not a paragon of virtues, but I wouldn't write it off just yet because for now it has enough to sustain my interest.

@ misty85: thanks for ur support...truly said about they gray character...now a days no one is completely black or completely white, rather people are of mixed nature...there is both the good and evil in eveyrone's inside...the evil part is more for someone and les for someone...in this way prateek has more share of evilness which is quite natural...so, portrayal of prateek as a "not so good human being" is very realistic...

Well said LadyMcbeth...yes NBT has flaws but not as much as to avoid watching it...I think some people are getting too much realistic...but at the end of the day they must know that they are watching fiction...

Totally agree, this show seems to be taking filmy route.. I haven't seen a daily soap in ages.. But this one kept me interested from day one - just because of it's natural appeal and mohan-nanhi scenes.. also the Arre-Yaar, sunna portions r awesome... I wanted MM to fall in love naturally, no need to create stupid situations for that to happen..But maybe TRP depends on filmy situations 😭
Rastogi, Prateek, that doctor and Tannu-betting scenes are all total useless crap added to this otherwise brilliant show..
