Barun is Punjabi - he might be Sikh but I've yet to meet a Sikh boy with a name anything like Barun (and I grew up in Delhi surrounded by very good looking Sikh boys - not too far from where Barun grew up - go West Delhi!)

Arnav is Lucknowi and there is something to be said about them as well. I've met many hot Lucknowi boys and visited the city once. They really do charm the hell out of you with that gorgeous accent and impeccable manners. The Shyam of the early episodes was in that mould. Arnav is more of a Delhi boy than Lucknowi in his conduct - Shyam pointed this out in one of the early episodes.
