As much as I love CID and Sr. Inspector, Abhijeet, I simply can't bear with the current degredation of the series. Some current episodes were deinitely good! Some are drab. Some are so OTT or emotionally charged that I am forced to foward the scenes.
CID has lost the charm that it had the day CID became a twice a weekend show. That January 25th, 2010 brought in the fate. I still love the old episodes, especially the post viren to pre divyaana eras. Oh, some of them were the best episodes ever.
I miss CID very badly. But now I have lost all the interest in the show, demotivating me, making me look for other sources of entertainment. Barring ACP Pradyuman, the other characters are getting butchered.
It is my personal opinion that CID has lost its charms for me. I miss the nostalgia associated with the show. Today it has reached a stage where I am forced to give it up as a hopeless case. These days I cannot defend the show because of its current avatar.
I love CID and I miss my favourite original team of ACP, Duo, Freddy-Sudhakar and Asha. I will never forget the golden olden episodes, and I never fail to catch up on the oldies whenever I see them.
Otherwise, CID has become something else. It was one of my life's turning points for several personal reasons, and I still get goosebumps when I see my favourite actors in the show.
I salute the actors for still sticking by the show despite its degredation. I am still happy for the show, because it has been running since 1998. I still appreciate it for still having its fans.
But if the production house and the channel do not oversee an upheavel, god please bless the show. I hope for the best.

We all know that the bi-weekly has reduced the quality of the show.
Do you think the actors are not aware of this? Do you think they enjoy it? I am sure they know it well...but they are still working almost 30 days a month to churn out 8 to 10 episodes a month.
If they don't tire, even I won't. I don't intend to be a 'fair weather friend'. I have watched CID during the good old days and will continue even during the so-called 'bad days'.
For me it's not a question of looking for other sources of entertainment. I don't have the time to commit myself to any other serial on a regular basis. So it's just Friday-Saturday 10PM for me, just as the actors in CID probably have no time to act in any other serial/movie.
Even I am disappointed at how Sony and FW have made a mess of this lovely series. But it's just due to the respect towards the actors and theirtireless effortsthat I am hanging on. As long as they are on screen, they'll find me as a viewer. Those who don't enjoy it are most welcome to give up and move on. No complaints.

Its too hard for me to let go of something that I have been hanging on to for so long. After watching all these daily soaps and drama I tune into CID for something different and refreshing. I really like the hard work put in by the whole team of CID.

CID is now a part and parcel of my every day life and I purposely can never stop watching CID.
I've witnessed the actors giving their best for the show .. they work so hard to give 2 hours of something interesting to see for us every week .. and I personally feel nothing can be a better way of expressing my gratitude to these people than just sitting through the episode and appreciating their efforts.
I definitely agree that the quality of cases has degraded .. but every thing has a bad phase isn't it ?
I still have a strong faith and belief that CID will return to a much better phase.
And I personally feel compared to 2010 .. 2011 was better .. IMO.
And even if it doesn't improve .. I'll still continue to watch the show .. because as I said .. the extent to whciih I'm bonded and love the show doesn't make me feel like leaving it. 😊

I think excellent points have been made already. I do understand when viewers express their disappointment with the downfall in quality of recent cases; to be honest, even I felt that way back in 2008 and merely continued to watch out of habit. That phase is long gone and now, especially after I started to be active over here at I-F, CID is much, much more than just a show for me – it's almost like a loved one, an extension of my own blood. Can we ever give up on such a person when they go wayward? Our actors, especially the trio have been giving us their best since 14 years even in the worst of the episodes, and I feel loyally watching the fruits of their efforts every weekend is the least I can do. It's more or less impossible for me to intentionally skip an episode nowadays – I downloaded and watched several 1-rated episodes over the last two years. Just tonight, I'm unable to watch the new episode because there's no cable signal, and I was heartily cursing the workers who cut the wires. 😆

I feel even the writers have been putting in more effort these days – the quality of cases in 2011 was certainly better when it comes to overall plot structure, and I've appreciated many of this year's cases. Yeah, there are still problems like poor team distribution, melodrama, arguments in the lab etc., but a major change does not happen overnight. They gotta take gradual steps and I feel the effect is certainly noticeable in some ways. Another important point is that Salil Singh – a man with a vital role to play in the future of our show – has definitely been at the ball with his direction these days and his improvement from the "Maut Ka Aashirwaad" days is noticeable. All this, combined with the knowledge of how hard our team works for each case, enables me to retain faith in our show. It is, IMHO, light-years ahead of the soaps and dramas which grace 90% of the other channels and we still see the old beauty peeking through in some recent episodes. I have no hesitation in defending it when required (sometimes makes me feel a bit like Harry, Ron and Hermione praising Hagrid over Prof. Grubbly-Plank 😆) and I strongly believe that it shall regain, if not all, then most of its glory and charm in the very near future. I do know I shall stay with the show and team till the end.

Just my two bucks. 😊

After everyone's points, here is what I have to say.
CID is an important part of my life. Ever since I've started it I can't let a weekend go by without watching it. At the same time CID has gone downhill since about 2009. Nowadays I watch less and less of the new episodes and more and more of the classics. No matter what I need my CID fix. It's just that important for me.

i agree that the quality of cases is not so good these days...but i can never convince my heart to stop watching it...i've grown up with CID...no chance of quitting it at all..
hum chahe ya na chahe saans tho leni padti hai na...CID is my breath i cant stop it...moreover...CID has been running for such a long time now that more than cases i focus on how are the officers working..how is my sweetheart daya looking☺️...and how are the rest executing themselves..
all i can say is that this program is the love of my life and i can never in my dream also stop watching it...i had stopped watching CID in 2008( i had become a little studious then😉) ...but that love always stayed and it pulled me back...

I can't be so obsessed with any serial in my life. I just simply love CID no matter what it was deliver in past and what it is delivering currently. Every serial has good and bad days. Stories in the cid are not that bad but our expectation is very high. We must appreciate the writers who are giving us different stories for the past 13 years. So encourage them. Cid is still in the top ten shows and I wish it will be there forever. Love you always cid and cid team.
