What are the chances? In July 1975, newspapers on both sides of the Atlantic reported the death of 17-year-old Erskine Lawrence Ebbin, a young man who had been struck by a taxi while driving a moped in Hamilton, Bermuda. While unfortunate, his death wasn't terribly notable—except for the fact that the previous year his brother was killed at the same intersection. And he, too, happened to be driving a moped—the same moped. But mopeds are dangerous vehicles, right? And this was otherwise a terrible coincidence, right? Wrong. That's not even the half of it. It turns out that it was the same taxi, with the same driver—and carrying the same passenger—that killed his brother Neville the previous year.

This time last year I couldn't sleep 'cos I was so worried about the WC finals. Time flies by way too fast!

Wow! Has it really been a year Dia? It is hard to imagine so much time has flown by.

Btw, have some posts in this thread been moved. I think Arwen's Cracked coincidence article was on the top of a page, now it is in the middle.

I saw 'The Girl Who Played With Fire' (Swedish) last night. It is the second one in the Millennium series. I don't think that one will get released in India either if it is made. Pretty intense lesbian sex scene. I have doubts whether the American version will even have it. Although, unlike the rape scene this one is not necessary or pivotal to the plot. But censorship would still be unfortunate because all Lisbeth's relationships and friendships are of building her character and personality, and explains why she and people around her do things.

I have to say Lisbeth Salander is the most kickass fictional character, she and Hit-Girl tie for top spot. As her guardian says she is invincible. Her will to live and fight against all odds is just something.

Btw, anyone know much about the guardian system in Sweden? Is that like a parole officer?

Looking forward to seeing Katy Perry perform at the IPL opening ceremony! The opening segment with the poetry by AB and the choreography by Shiamak was brilliant as usual but why are the hosts always so crappy? It's like half their time is spent in trying to pronounce Indian names correctly.
