So happy for the movie!

And of course it is going to do well in US and UK because it doesn't question the sensibility of the audience...

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu takes an honest view of love

Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor get it right in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu

By Itrath Syed, February 11, 2012

Starring Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, and Ratna Pathak Shah. Rated PG. In Hindi with English subtitles. Now playing

Released on Valentine's Day weekend and promoted as a romantic-comedy, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu at first seems to follow all the expected conventions of this genre. And then, quite refreshingly, it doesn't.

The film opens in Las Vegas, which, instead of looking glamorous as is the norm for U.S. locations in Bollywood films, looks bleak and unappealing. Rahul Kapoor (Imran Khan) is a 25 year-old Indian architect just fired from his first job. This position had been arranged for him by his overbearing parents (Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah), who have controlled every aspect of his life while sapping him of his will to live. They are the kind of parents that tell a child that he "didn't win a silver medal, he lost the gold." Rahul is a dull, personality-free bore who irons his socks.

In a meet-cute full of clichs, he gets entangled in the life of Riana Braganza (Kareena Kapoor), a free-spirited unemployed hairstylist who seems to repel orderliness and good decisions. Their connection transforms Rahul, and one night after a well-placed dare and copious amounts of alcohol, they do what everyone does in movies set in Las Vegas—they get married.

The rest of the movie is a joy to watch. The pace of the film is leisurely, with enough dialogue and context for the characters to become fully realized people that we come to care about. The songs are charming and placed in the film unobtrusively. The fun "Aunty Ji, Get Up and Dance" is sure to be a hit at desi weddings for years to come.

This film is funny, sweet, and romantic. It is also, however, a love story for adults. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu will resonate with those who know that love brings with it no guarantees.

Will someone please tell about the ending? Write it under a spoiler or something? I really want to know 😳 Nikks, maybe you could help? 😳

Looks like its doing well 😃 Kareena has lived upto her words - first movie of hers in 2012 and critics seem to be happy 😃

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Day Two Collections Early Estimates

By somu sekhar | Published: February 11, 2012

The Second Day Has shown a jump of around 30% in terms of occupancies. While the Evening Shows rose around 50% in many cities. This is actually a good sign and suggests further growth on Sunday.

Final Figure for Saturday May Come Around 8 crores

Its a nice film. Not compelling, but better than most run of the mill stuff. I thought it would make an awesome Star Bestsellers episode :)

Incidentally, I think Imran is a good actor. The only problem is that he is good at being subtle, at doing nuance, and he cannot take it up a notch to do Hindi movie type emotion. So in movies that are as subtle as he is, like Delhi Belly or EMAET, he comes across as a good actor. But if the context surrounding him is loud (loud not in itself but loud compared to Imran) like MBKD, he comes across as a bad actor, non actor or simply ill at ease. Ranbir is like that too, only he can take it a step above Imran, which makes him more comfortable in commercial cinema. Neither of them would be excellent in a melodrama or in a 'masala' film. I do not mean this as negative criticism, or as a compliment, just as an observation.

Seems to me Taran Adarsh is really plugging EMAET or is this what he does for
all movies?
Is he officially one of the PR for the movie?
anyways i tried to google EMAET box office and theres not much going on
even after Friday end of week and Saturday holiday. Inspite of Karan Johar,
Las vegas, Imraan and kareena , glowing reviews by all critics,
promotion blitz on tv, magazines, India forums and all available
media- ; i think they even showed Imraan and kareena dancing in
a mall, one thing is apparent, super hit it is not.
I would think the target audience is been targetted, the young kids and college
youth would go see it on Fri evening or Sat whole day. Maybe there will
be a pick up on Sunday but dont know why there wasnt a frenzy on Saturday
or is everyone waiting for Valentines Day to cozy up together and watch?
But Valentines Day isnt an official holiday.

Watched it today with a group of friends and really liked it!

I'd give it a 3.5/5...or maybe even more.

Will post a detailed review up soon.

You are actually comparing RANBIR with IMRAAN in ACTING?
Have you see Ranbir do his thing as a Punjabi salesman in Rocket Singh? or the
playboy rake in Bachna Ae Haseeno, the at a loose ends youngster in 'Sid'
'intense scion of a political family in Raajneeti, lovable goofy character in
Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani and desperado loverboy in Rockstar????
Ranbir is being compared to the Khans now in terms of acting!
Imraan is good but he has miles to go when compared to Ranbir.
EMAET role was something of what he himself is. the introverted
shy yuppie. i dont see Imraan essaying Ranbirs 'Rockstar' or his
effervescent Prem of Ajab Prem ...anytime soon that is. There is
always the future..we will see
