Lajjoji and Haveli are very upset with Bhushan's irresponsible behaviour and strongly oppose any kind of association with Mevalal. Bhushan and his parents have a massive ideology clash and the modern thinking versus the old. Bhushan gets married to Lochan who acts snobbish. Bhushan comes to know of Lochan's aspirations of working in the films to which he strongly objects.

Bhushan could not get through the scholarship he needed to go abroad. He asks Shiela whether she would still like to marry him. Bhushan informs his parents of his consent in marrying Shiela. The family starts the wedding preparations. On the other hand, Sulochana's parents tell Bhushan that they can send him abroad and also that they find him to be a perfect match for their daughter. Bhushan is overwhelmed. He reaches home with Sulochana's father Mevalal and announces his marriage with Lochan.

Bhushan is attracted towards Sulochana. Bhushan's parents (Haveli and Lajjo) wants to get him married and find Shiela to be the perfect match for him. Bhushan rejects the idea of getting married and informs the family of his aspirations to study abroad. Moreover, he takes Shiela like his sister.

Aatmanand returns home after imprisonment. His colleagues try to convince him to stay but he chooses to follow the government's order to leave Punjab. Shaano gives birth to a baby boy. The family rejoices. Munshiji tries to get settlement done between Haveli and Ralliaram. Haveli is arrested in suspicion of being involved in the death of Lala Lajpat.

Swami Gyanandji calls for Haveli and hands over Veerawalli's baby to him saying that Haveli's mother used to take care of this child. She was very fond of the child and wished the baby be handed over to Haveli after her death. Haveli takes the baby with him and starts living a usual life. After few years, Veerawalli comes to meet her son in absence of Lajjo and Haveli. On returning home, her eldest son informs Lajjo of a sadhvi who had come to meet them. Lajjo suspects her to be Veerawalli and decides to go and look for her. In Uttarkashi she finds Veerawalli and convinces her to come back home. She also indicates of the possible union of her with Vrishbhan. Haveli upon meeting Vrishbhan finds out that he's already married and has a baby.

Ralliaram comes to know that Haveli is giving shelter to inqalaabis in his house. He shows his disagreement in the matter and asks Haveli to leave the house. Jayiji returns from Uttarkashi Aashram and learns that Haveli and his family have been living with Bicchuwali and not with Ralliaram. Though unwell she goes to meet Haveli. She resolves that she will come home only after Ralliaram returns Bhushan's share in the property to the Haveli. Jayiji dies suffering illness.

Ralliaram arrives with the wedding token. Finally, Vrishbhan's marriage is fixed with Veerawalli. Immediately after the token ceremony, Vrishbhan suffers major burns due to a fire in the mill. The family considers this as inauspicious and calls off the wedding. Ralliaram returns insulted. Haveli writes to Vrishbhan. Vrishbhan replies that the wedding is still on. Munshiji breaks the news of Veerawalli's death.

Vrishbhan turns out to be the same guy who Durga mausi had proposed for Veerawalli. Veerawalli's happiness knows no bounds. But she fears Vrishbhan's father because of whom their marriage was called off earlier. Vrishbhan's father arrives in Dehradun and opposes the wedding. He calls for Ralliaram for further talks.

Jayiji, Veerawalli and Munshi are on pilgrimage. Their neighbour, in their hotel, shows interest in Veerawalli. The old lady- Durga mausi becomes fond of her and proposes a suitable match. Durga mausi invites them to Dehradun to meet the boy. In spite of Jayiji's interest in the matrimonial alliance , Veerawalli strongly objects. She meets Vrishbhaan in Dehradun and clears out the matter.

Haveli is released from the jail. Haveli's mother Jayiji persuades him to involve himself in the family business. Even after returning from jail, Haveli continues his work for the nation. He boycotts the sale of foreign goods in his father's shop. Ralliaram misbehaves and objects to all the agitation. Shanno and Ralliaram cunningly decide to send Jayiji, Veerawalli and Munshiji on pilgrimage to acquire property through cheating.

The two families are at loggerheads. Shano continues to ill treat Laajoji. The bickering in the family doesn't cease and Lalaji continues to remain indisposed.
Lalaji finally gives in to the stress caused by the strife in the family and passes away. The family is deeply grieved. Chayji wants the two families to stay together. But Shano conspires with her husband Ralyaram to take over the family business and usurp Haveliram's sons share in the business. Ralyaram succeeds in doing this.

Shano gets pregnant again and the whole family expects the birth of a son. The family expects that the birth of the child might lessen the impudence in Shano and make her wiser. Lalaji and Chayji are worried about their daughter's future when Ralyaram comes with a letter from Brij Bhaan's place. On reading the acerbic contents of the same Bauji gets an attack. Haveliram's family is summoned to visit Bauji, for it could be his last days. Haveliram is allowed to meet his ailing father. Shano in a fit of fury slips on the staircase and blames Laajoji for it. The threat of her losing the foetus looms large on Shano due to the fall.

Brij Bhaan comes to town and meets Veerawali at Laajoji's house despite Laajoji protesting against such a meeting. But upon finding that the purpose of his visit is to propose Veerawali for marriage, she calms down. Brij Bhaan gathers courage to go to Lalaji's place to ask for Veerawali's hand. He assures him that if Lalaji writes a letter to his father, he would convince his father to let him marry Veerawali. Ralyaram expresses his displeasure at Brij Bhaan's offer, but Lalaji obliges and decides to give it a try. Haveliram's arrest coupled with the disgrace Veerawali is faced with, takes a toll on Bauji's health. The doctor asks him to take rest.

Looking at Haveliram's photograph in the paper his mother's chest swells with pride. The Inquilabi group members meet up for a small conference. Haveliram is arrested during the meet. On hearing the news Ralyaram, who despises Haveliram for his involvement in the movement, refuses to get him out on bail.
Her father and brother get to know of Veerawali's secret love and the fact that she frequently visits Vichoowali's house to write letters to her beau. Bauji's relatives are sent to Laajoji's house to ensure the wellbeing of Laajoji and her new born in Haveliram's absence. The relatives are shown stealing money given to Laajoji by her mother-in-law. They find Veerawali in Laajoji's house, who is disguised in a burkha, and are curious to know the reason behind her getting there. Some how Veerawali succeeds in bluffing them.

The 'Inquilab' movement gathers momentum. Haveliram's father and brother are upset with his involvement in the movement. They feel this could jeopardize his brother, Ralyaram's position as a magistrate and also his father's business. The Inquilabi group is shown following Gandhiji's Roulette Act during which the police intervene and ask the protestants to stop their march. The situation goes out of control and many people including Haveliram are hurt. The news that the British could get the army to bring the situation under control spreads like wild fire.

Laajo gets pregnant. Ralliaram's wife too is expecting a baby. The mood at the homes of both the families is upbeat. Laajo gives birth to a healthy baby while Ralliaram's wife Shano gives birth to a still born child.

Laajo's uncle is sentenced to life imprisonment as Daud Dashan confirms his contacts with Aatmaram. Haveliram's father disowns him and asks him to leave the house for his decision to marry Laajo. Haveliram is suggested that he could return only if he agrees to marry the girl chosen by the family. But Haveliram leaves the house and ties the knot with Laajo.

Brij Bhan sends a letter to Veerawalli expressing his affection for her and that he yearns to meet her at the earliest. The police interrogate Ralliaram for the illegal dealings Haveliram had indulged in, to support the "Inquilab" idealogy. Daud Dhashan is held by the police for supplying weapons. Brij Bhan's family peremptorily rejects the proposal sent by Veerawalli's father. Haveliram is besieged by the family questioning him about his alleged involvement in the 'Inquilab' movement. Haveliram proposes marriage to Laajo. Haveliram's family opposes the proposal and his mother decides to fast until Haveliram revokes the preposterous offer.

During his stay, Brij Bhan and Veerawalli develop a fondness for each other. Veerawalli's mother requests the father to communicate their interest in Brij Bhan and formally ask for Veerawalli and Brij Bhan to be married. Though reluctant initially, the father succumbs to the mother's dogged insistence and sends a proposal to Brij Bhan's family back in Delhi.

Veerawali's sister-in-law brings her the marriage proposal of an old businessman. Upset at the age difference, Veerawalli flatly turns down the offer. Haveliram understands his sister's distress and lovingly calms her down. In the meantime, Brij Bhan arrives from Delhi to meet Veerawali. The family secretly hopes he will take Veerawalli to be his bride. They bustle around tidying the house and making other arrangements to welcome their special guest.

Laajo informs Haveliram that her uncle Aatmaraam finds him unfit to participate in "Inquilab". Haveliram's house is being readied for his wedding which has been fixed with a rich business man's daughter. However Haveliram is not ready for the marriage. Everybody in his house is upset with Haveliram for his involvement with Laajo and the Inquilab. Haveliram is disheartened by the hostility he is faced with, from the family.

Laajo decides to participate in the Inquilab. Later she gets the news that her uncle has been arrested. Haveliram, immersed in the party work, is unable to attend the religious ceremonies held in his house. This results in greater resentment from his mother and family.

Laajo disowns the relation and goes suffers a lot for her stance. On the first night itself the old man dies of heart attack. The old man's family blames Lajjo for his death. The old man's son asks Laajo to leave the house and give it in writing that she is leaving the house at her own will and will not claim any part of their property. Laajo comes back to Aatmaraam's house. Laajo is in a miserable state as she reminisces her past.

Lajjo is being married to the old drunkard businessman against her will. She reluctantly follows the wedding rituals. On reaching her husband's place, she revolts and fights with the relatives to go back to her uncle's house but she is locked in a room. On the other hand, the old husband enjoys a "Mujra " performed by a danseuse and is heavily drunk.

Haveliram daydreams about Laajo and is not able to concentrate on his work or studies. His sister sees them as a couple and teases them on their love forlorn state. On the other hand Aatmanand is getting ready to support Inquilab and questions Haveliram on his seriousness of the issue. The group is shown getting ready and leaving for their mission. Meanwhile Laajo's mother forces her to marry an old and rich Landlord. Laajo isn't much keen about the same and asks her mother to wait for the arrival of Tayaji to resolve matters.

Haveliram turns down the marriage proposal. His sister-in-law informs Haveliram's father of the much talked about relation between Laajo and Haveliram. His father asks him to stop teaching her immediately. Haveliram stops teaching her. His sister convinces him to follow what is right. Haveliram goes to teach Laajo despite all the opposition. And so as to make a point to the world he asks Laajo to tie him a rakhi!

Haveliram's sister asks him to consider Laajo for marriage. Praji asks Haveliram to give up teaching and join the family business. He also asks Haveliram to get married and suggests his wife's relative for marriage. Will Masterji marry his sister-in-law's relative and will he give up teaching?
