Hey guys. So with the season about to kick off do you have any possible themes of dancing for the contestants to showcase in both solo and partner rounds? If so, share your possible themes you would like to see on the show! And if you have songs to go with the theme please do share that as well. Be as innovative as you can! :) Who knows maybe one of our theme suggestions may be suggested or performed on!!

Solo

1) Girl leaving her home after marriage.

2) Boy finding out he will never see his country again.

3) Boy finding out his girl has broken up with him.

4) Girl finding out she has a long lost twin living elsewhere.

5) Girl finding out she's going to die soon.

6) Boy finding out he's become a millionaire.

7) Boy realizing the importance of the family that he never realized before.

8) Girl going to her first prom.

9) Girl has to chose between her family and friends.

10) Boy has to live overseas for the rest of his life.

Duet

1) Boy and Girl have a huge fight and break up.

2) Boy finds out that his Girl is marrying into another family.

3) Boy and Girl try to reunite their families after a misunderstanding.

4) Boy and Girl have money problems and have to leave their house.

5) Boy finds out that the Girl he once knew to be loving and caring has changed to become the opposite.

6) Boy finds out that his best friend also loves the same Girl as him and one has to sacrifice.

7) Girl finds out her best friend is dying of cancer and the only way to save her is to risk her own life.

8) Two sisters fight the world for justice of parents death.

9) Two brothers have to earn a respectable job in order to care for their nephew who is in a foster home.

10) A brother and a sister bonding.

Dont care about themes, but i am dying to see a semi classical / indial contemporary on the song , Kaunsi dor/ saans albeli from aarakshan and praying that a dancer like kruti or vurshali, is here to do justice to the song and terence or remo take the song.

I would LOVE to see a pure Indian contemporary dance too. Thought I don't think it's necessary to have a dancer like Kruti/Vrushali in order to do full justice to a good piece of choreography. Having said that, being classically trained is always hugely advantageous.

I'm sure if we have some students from TLDA or SDIPA then no doubt we'll get to see some brilliant contemporary dances! :)

I have always believed classical dancing is the root of all dance forms. A dancer should have classical training to enhance their dancing skills.

my knowledge in dancing is zilch so i really can't comment much but i love contemporary, hip hop etc

im dying to watch remo & terrance stuff. these two are awesome mentors & have fresh ideas especially terrance. his story telling through dancing is amazing!

Classical and tradional Indian dancing always appeal to me. They are timeless. In my family, a couple of my nieces (aged 13 and 17) are professional dancers and can effortlessly dance to the tunes of kathak and bharatnatyam (the only names i know given my limited knowledge about indian art-my bad).

I have seen them in various functions at triveni theatre and they are also students of Smt. Saroja Vaidyanathan ji. Watching an Indian contemporary dance with a guru-shishya theme is always appealing to me. They are simple, evergreen and every move conveys a story. Gives perfect sukoon to the audience.

CPR, offcourse we will see some good contemporaries, even remo does some good stuff too, remember the krishna and mahadev story he tried with puneet and shashank or bhavna doing bawra man. I am sure there will be excellent contemporary dancers as well to do justice to them this season, whether they are trained in TLDA or SDIPA is immaterial as long as they bring life to it.

But i was trying to say that i want to see indian contemporary or lets say semi classical mix,. This needs some indian classical training for mudras and expression, kruti and vrushali have set a benchmark in it. I dont think, even some one as strong as shakti could have pulled off the albela sajan by kruti, also there was a albela sajan by dharmesh and vaishnavi and that was wonderful too. That is why i mentioned their names in this context.

Also i hope people will follow kruti and amrita's and nikkitasha's path and do some pure indian classical the way she did. I mostly will remember amrita for attempting classical though, coz manipuri isnt a very popular dance form and she gambled. She almost lost due to geeta maa's stupidity and we certainly wouldn't have seen her if dada hadn't kept her as standby

overall, some good dancing and meeting old friends and seeing the masters.

Just to clarify - only reason I mentioned TLDA and SDIPA is because Terence has already mentioned there are 3/4 dancers from his academy and both him and Shiamak specialise in both Indo Jazz and Indian Contemporary so it'd be interesting to see their performances. They shall forever be compared to the likes of Mayuresh and Shakti who were mindblowing in those dance forms.

Sorry, h4l I thought I was quoting cpr, stupid net on stupid phone. Anyways yeah I agree with what u said and I just wanted t wwwo clarify why I mentioned kruti or vrushali or ammu.

Another nice thread, Rani!!!

Indo-Contemporary style has been shown on DID in both previous seasons, as far as I can remember...

Will add my ideas later.
