Mumbai, March 12: Is Kandy Floss only about gossip? Not entirely. The show is opinionated and takes a stand on the showbiz industry. It's based on an international magazine's format but has an indigenous feel. It is Balaji's first venture into non-fiction. I'm co-hosting the show with Kandy, an animated character and I'm excited about the shock value. Give us some gossip from the show... If you've seen the first episode with Rakhi Sawant, you'll know what I mean. We have male models talking about the casting couch, and celebs reminiscing their relationships and experiences.
No, I'm simply anchoring the show. It's Kandy who gets invited to all the parties, does the digging and gets the goss. When you talk about acquaintances and industry friends on the show, isn't there a possibility you could tick them off? I'm not scripting the show, but I draw the line. If something uncomplimentary has to be said, I use my own discretion. Moreover, we are professionals and should know how to conduct ourselves and be responsible for our actions. The show will also not just blabber gossip, we'll be catching celebs on camera. Are you happy to be back on screen after a long break? I had enough of anchoring. I was bored and ridden with self-doubt. Nothing—not the money, nor the work or the recognition, made any sense to me. So I willingly took the break to refresh myself. I wanted to spend more time with family. I feel this three-year break separates two eras of television. The heap has risen and I'm happy to be back with a new perspective and hope to be on top of the bunch. You look more toned than you've ever been on screen. What did you do? I camouflage my excess weight and inches well. I have no fancy diet or exercise regime. I've been planning to start those walks and ban the chocolates, but it hasn't happened yet. So I consciously pick the right clothes and carry myself with poise. Any special catchlines for this show? The line "Wah! Kya scene hain!" became a hit by accident. These things are never by design. It caught on well with the public. While Kandy Floss might not have any special lines, something else about it might get the public going. Nach Baliye had you and your husband Parmeet together. Any more couple appearances? We'll be together in an ad. We don't really want to be in each other's face all the time. Sorry if it has been posted | |||
