I've never heard this song before Sush, (I'm not inclined towards Western music, unless its Bon Jovi or few select ballads) but the lyrics! - looks like Khushi's heart singing out to Arnav!
Perfect selection Sush 👏
I know there'll be arguments from both sides - ones saying that Khushi did not let Arnav speak when he wanted to clear things and the others saying that Arnav is the one who pushed Khushi away.
My view? Both Arnav and Khushi are driven by their respective weaknesses. Both are the way they are due to circumstances forced on them by fate and life. Both are obstinate.
Khushi is obligated to her family and thinks she owes her happiness to them. She is ready to become a martyr and sacrifice her happiness to honor their wishes.
She either does not know or is in denial of her feelings for Arnav. She did try to ask him on Diwali night - but Arnav shut her out completely and crushed whatever hope she had for this relationship to bloom.
Now she's engaged to Shyam. Unless Shyam's real face is revealed, I think she will not break off her engagement to him - and this is only for the sake of her family because she thinks this is what her parents (or rather her Babuji wants).
She has absolutely no support from Arnav in this matter either. He is getting married to La...so on what basis can she back out from her engagement?
Arnav took the decision of his marriage to La himself. It wasn't really forced on him by his family nor was he pushed against a corner by anyone.
He took that decision to take control of his emotions, because he thinks he was becoming weak.Love is an alien feeling to him - he does not know what it is and despite being in love with Khushi he too is either in denial or is ignorant of its significance.
But, unlike Khushi he has no majboori, except his ego to back out from his marriage to La.
In a way we can say that Khushi agreed for marriage to Shyam because Arnav pushed her away.
She's obstinate too - after being rejected so cruelly her defenses came up and even when Arnav tried to send feelers to her on a couple occasions, she put up a wall.
The situation is very complicated - I do not think Khushi has any choice in this matter now.
Arnav does.
He can set things right, because the only things he has to sacrifice for this is his misguided beliefs and to an extent his ego.
Sorry, today I'm not getting a chance to type my thoughts properly since my kids are constantly demanding my attention! I've been called away thrice already!
Not sure I made sense at all...but since I reserved a post, I decided to type whatever I could!
