The Bhatt camp's new poster boy is down with a stomach infection. Actor Kunal Khemu says, "I may have eaten something that has upset my stomach. I really don't know what caused it. I have been advised complete bed rest by the doctor and am on strict medication."
What keeps Khemu smiling even through his ill health is the fact that filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has offered him the lead role in his film Signal. "When Madhur called me, I just could not believe it was him. He told me that he wanted to talk to me about a film that he planned to start after Corporate. I had no idea that he wanted to talk to me about Signal," he adds. Kunal said that Bhandarkar narrated the script to him in the office. He says, "I am lucky to have bagged this kind of film for my second venture. The film shows the kind of life people living near highway signals lead. I play the protagonist and the film revolves around the kind of experiences I have as boy who has been born and brought up near this signal on the highway. It is an intense film and I am looking forward to shooting it." Kunal says that Bhandarkar had first called him after watching 'Kalyug'. Kunal has also agreed to do another Bhatt venture. He says, "It is called Friends and is to be directed by Mohit Suri. Emraan Hashmi and I play friends who run away to UK to make a living. The film shows the attitude of the Englishmen towards Asians after the UK bomb blast."
