Difference between 'love' and 'desire'

This was an episode of contrasts...One on side there was a tender feeling...a desire to protect someone, care for someone, for a reason Arnav himself did not why...This feeling is so beautiful ...so pure...he has not even given it a name...New as it is...and unnamed as it is...there is no doubt about how strong it is...a feeling that gives one the courage to move the mountains...have a high society city boy like Arnav go on a hand to hand combat with five goons at a time...and overcoming them...just because...they dared touched someone in a way that deeply offended him... On the other side there was "desire" to get the very same person ...that made Shyam become uglier than ever...pushed him to the extent that he came close to mudering her own father...An obsession.. that is as far from selfless as can be...
I loved the contrast...and enjoyed the tenderness and everything that is meant to be chersihed associated with it as much as I hated the ugliness that Shyam brought...I fast forwarded most of the Shashi-Shyam scene which I thought was stretched beyond my tolerance.
If there was only thing that was a miss in this episode...and now what seems to be a near end to a journey that we were banking on so much...that it did not quite take Khushi to a place that we have been waiting for...instead the CVs decided to open a page from the first ME...and took us back there...where it was Arnav who was the one feeling at the Guest House episode...and after ...where it was Arnav, who became aware of the feelings that were taking over...We wanted it so much to be Khushi's turn...for her to be aware...but to my disappointment the CVs had her sleep through most of the tender moments...when Arnav was caring for her...She did not see any of it...it was the same as all the other times before when he has done that...so major disappointment for not moving the story from that point of view...
She did see, the fight...the rage he had to protect her...but she is still oblivious to the root cause of it...That would not have mattered if she only saw what she didn't...SIGH

Hi Sush!

Sweet post 😊 Loved the way you have summed up the 2 contrasting situations in today's episode.

@ bold : my thoughts exactly!

They could have shown Khushi getting up from her slumber and seeing for herself how the Laad Governor was being Nurse Betty to her and taking care of her.
They just shifted the scene to them walking outside. I mean he actually kind of caressed her face today! Why didn't they show her stirring and getting up then?!

This has been happening quite a bit now, when Arnav does something good for Khushi, she's unaware of it.

And I may be in the minority here thinking like this but, I did not like the way Khushi made light of the whole goon situation (she said something like "unhone hame sirf dhakka hi toh diya" ). What if he had forcibly carried her away?! She did get hit on the head also. I just can't put a finger on it, but I felt something was lacking in the ending scene - I was disappointed seeing Khushi's reaction to it all.

Khushi seems to be an eternal dweller of clueless-ville... saw the preview for tomorrows episode and I was disappointed to see her cheerfully chattering away, asking Arnav what he would have done, had the goon actually hit her...her tone seemed a bit too perky for that time after that whole gunda scnenario.

Yes, I too forwarded the Shashi torture scenes quite a bit and watched only the starting and ending couple minutes of that. Shyam has turned into a typical villian now. No redemption chance for him now.

Hey
Awesome post 👏

i agree with you, it would have been nice to see more realization from khushi's side, but maybe that we'll happen once shayms truth comes out... shaym seems to be going to any extent to get what he wants😡 ...its disgusting, i also fast forwarded the scenes, it was a bit too much, most of the episode seemed to revolve around shaym🤢 cant wait for the day where Arnav will beat him to pulp!!!

The arshi scenes were really beautiful today, him caring about her so much.. it was really sweet

@Sush - loved how you brought out the contrast - Love & desire - profound!!! Yes, today was an episode of contrasts and based on all the posts created & commented on, it is unanimous that they seemed to have rushed through the ArHi scenes. The transition seemed abrupt and forced. Quite sure that they had written more situations and in the interest of god knows what, they put more emphasis to the shyam track.
Hopes of seeing more chemistry translated into actual scenes were all crushed with the pace with which events have taken a turn.
That being said, I don't want to take away from the brilliance of the performance as well as the situation - Arnav knows that he has it and has it bad. He is in love and in the forever kind!!! A quote comes to mind which is very fitting to his situation - What you resist, persists!!!!!

True, it would be nice to see some progress in Khushi as well.

But I think its important that Arnav fall in love first and realize something is going on first...that will clear Khushi of any blame for "trapping" a rich man...something I'm sure she'll get accused of when the whole Shyam business unfolds.

If that happens, Arnav will have to realize that she could've gone for him if she really wanted to trap someone because he's richer and would've reciprocated!

Also, Khushi is used to and believes in love - so when it does happen for her, it won't take her long to accept it. Even if she tries not to act on it, at least she'll acknowledge it.

Arnav on the other hand needs more time to deal with the idea and feelings that come with love because he has been suppressing his emotions for so long...so from that pov, again he's gonna need more time to come to terms with it so he has to get the headstart.

Khushi has put a self-control on herself like Arnav did but poor Arnie baby wasn't able too cuz hs feelings have emerged out to be bigger than he even hoped them to be! Khushi, however is still in delimia who is the one her hearts been beating for!

Arrey Sushi...Deja Vu,..Yaar🤣
But I disagree about ASR feeling the love..What about when Khushi fed him the jalebi..the Dhak Dhak Sequence..the whole I will stop you because you have not eaten..and then the final straw..the fight sealing the proof..the feeling they have yet to name..I hope they do before the shymaoo's whole cover being blown up before ASR..
Awesome Sush..

Awesome point...zain! Yes, Khushi's heart is not without feelings...I do think Arnav is more aware of them than she is...She is still a bit Bindhas!!

HELP Ms Universe,
Khushi still does NOT get it !!!!!
In the precap her tone was yet again casual rather than sensitive. Can't she put 2 & 2 together and shut up for a bit. I too would ask her to GET OUT if I were Arnav. He himself has to figure out why he did what he did and our madam has to jump right into it. She has a long way in understanding Arnav & herself. The girl has to grow up else we the audience and the show's charecters will keep running in circles.
I thought the episode was good even with Shyam , who I generally fast forward myself. I am having a hard time understanding this character and his problem. Maybe he is just there to irriate the bunch of us. Anyway i hope Devi Maiyya teaches him a lesson and gets what he deserves.
I am hoping that Arnav comes thru for her in the coming days of trial but one thing is for sure after the Nanital trip. They are NOT YET THERE ! ie on THE road to Love.
Bit depressed.

Khushi has been hurt many times and is reluctant to expect Arnav to love her . She knows about Arnav -La relationship . It wont be natural for her to expect love from Arnav .
Sush - good points .
