Dookudu collections are super strong on Monday too. It has already set a new record in the first weekend and is poised to break Magadheera first week record. As per the trends it is all set to break Pokiri and Robo records for sure. That means Dookudu will reach top 2 position in all time grosser list.

Magadheera record is far away at the moment and no one is daring to make a statement that it will beat that record in full run. Dookudu is sure to break Magadheera's records in few territories though. Lot will depend on the other biggie Oosaravelli performance at the box office.

If Oosaravelli doesn't prove good enough to compete with Dookudu then the latter will scale unimaginable heights. Dookudu is the latest example for Mahesh Babu's craze and stamina.

Mahesh Babu's 'Dookudu' rakes in the moolah, beats 'Magadheera' at box office

Mahesh Babu has beaten Ram Charan Teja's record of highest collection in the first week

Telugu film Dookudu has been getting rave reviews ever since it hit the theatres last Friday. Mahesh Babu's film garnered stupendous commercial success with about Rs 12.58 crore on its first day itself. The action-comedy film had been touted as the biggest hit in the history of Telugu cinema. The results of the first week sales has even surpassed the success of the hit film, Ram Charan Teja's MagadheeraDookudu released on September 23, apparently had fetched the producers Rs 23 crore even prior to its release. Mahesh Babu's popularity and the perfect timing worked in the favour of the film.

It is becoming difficult to imagine the enormity of Dookudu's commercial success.  According to close sources, the Mahesh Babu-Srinu Vytla film's first day gross is pegged at, hold your breathe, Rs. 12.58 cr. (and a share of Rs. 10.11 cr.).  Going by the standards, even after a monster hit like Magadheera which raked in Rs. 23 cr. in the first week of its run, Dookudu is making a history.

Touted to become the biggest hit in the history of Telugu cinema, the action-comedy was released worldwide on Sept. 23.  In area after area - Andhra, Ceded, Nizam and even the market in other States - the film is creating records of sorts.  (Breaking records would be a misnomer, the superstar's fans might tell you).

What about the Overseas share?  It is the highest, again.  The film has amassed an unprecedented one million dollars in on Sept. 23 and 24.

The film's first week share is expected to surpass that of Magadheera.  Dookudu is helped by the holiday season.  It is Mahesh's terrific performance, the presence of ace comedians like Brahmanandam, well-picturized songs and slick action that everyone is talking about.

Dookudu shakes Chennai Box-office!

Mahesh Babu's Dookudu is shaking the box-office in Chennai. The film had released in about 17 screens in Chennai and the film reportedly collected close to Rs 15.5 lakhs on first day alone. The response has been terrific over the last three days and by the end of opening weekend, the film collected a nett of Rs 51 lakhs in Chennai alone. Even more interesting fact is that Dookudu is the highest grosser for the September 23-25 weekend in Chennai. The film collected more than a direct Tamil film, Engeyum Eppodhum which had Jai, Sharwanand, Anjali and Ananya in lead roles. Despite being an A R Murgadoss-Fox Star Studios production and garnering critical acclaim, Engeyum Eppodhum managed to rake in Rs 45 lakhs at Chennai box-office in its opening weekend. This is a rarity and certainly a first time in recent years where a direct Telugu film has collected more than Tamil films in Chennai.

Dookudu Collects 21.22 crores in 3 days

We have been receiving independent Box Office figures so far for Prince Mahesh Babu's Dookudu and while all of them pointed out the massive blockbuster status the movie is fast turning into, we have received the official figures directly from the producers now. Dookudu has stormed the Box Office to rake in a cool Rs21.22 crores in three days. That is massive by any means of comparison.

Sreenu Vaitla, Anil Sunkara, Gopi Achanta, Ram Achanta and writer Gopi Mohan all expressed their happiness at the superb outcome of the movie. Sreenu Vytla's birthday happened to be on 24th September and by then it was obvious that Dookudu was a massive hit.

As reported earlier, the movie is doing phenomenally well in the US also and the magical US$ 1 Million mark was reached within three days itself. Prince Mahesh Babu has re-established his claim as the Box Office Badshah with this film.

Dookudu shatters Nizam 1st day record!

Prince Mahesh Babu's high voltage action and comedy entertainer Dookudu is taking the box office by storm. Collections are terrific and all earlier records are falling by the wayside. Dookudu collected around Rs 2 Crores on the opening day in Nizam areas and that is a new record for the Telugu Film Industry.

These figures come as a much needed boost for the industry at a time when morale is rather low. Dookudu has received a very positive feedback from all corners and the movie looks set to become one of the highest grossers in Prince Mahesh Babu's career.

Brahmanandam's scenes with Mahesh Babu have become the talk of the town and Sreenu Vytla has excelled at producing some truly fantastic comedy in the film. More collection records will be updated soon,so watch this space.

Dookudu breaks Magadheera Guntur record

Prince Mahesh Babu's Dookudu has shattered the Guntur district record for highest openings by a big margin. Dookudu collected about Rs 81 lakhs for the first day in Guntur district. The earlier record was held by Magadheera for 60 lakhs.

A strong pre release buzz for the movie coupled with Prince Mahesh Babu's charming looks & Sreenu Vytla's comedy have generated bumper openings for the movie. Dookudu is the most expensive film in Prince Mahesh Babu's career and the movie is turning into a bumper bonanza for its producers and distributors.

Family crowds and youth are thronging the theaters in a big way. Dussehra holiday season has begun and it looks like Dookudu will do phenomenally well during this time. Brahmanandam and M.S.Narayana have turned in a stupendous performance for the movie.

Dookudu's storming overseas Box Office performance

Prince Mahesh Babu's high voltage action and comedy entertainer Dookudu has redefined the opening collections for a Telugu Cinema and this stupendous performance is not limited to Andhra Pradesh alone. Mahesh Babu has a terrific pull in overseas markets and Dookudu has been raking in phenomenal opening collections all over the world.

The collections in USA alone crossed the US$ 1 million mark over the opening weekend. UK, Australia, Dubai, Canada, Kuwait and other areas are reporting storming collections as well. Singapore, where the movie will release on September 30th due to local re-censor, is reporting terrific advance bookings.

Such stupendous all round performace was missing from our top Telugu Heroes for a while now. A few more blockbusters like this and Telugu Cinema will take its rightful place in the Southern Film Industry.

Dookudu

Cast: Mahesh, Samantha, Brahmanandam, Prakash Raj, Sonu Sood and Sayaji Shinde Director: Srinu Vytla Producers: Ram Achanta, Anil Sunkara, Gopichand Achanta
Mahesh Babu, the superstar of Tollywood, has not had a hit since "Pokiri", which released almost five years ago. Now, the star makes a big comeback with his cop act in Srinu Vytla's slick flick, "Dookudu".
S h a n k a r N a r aya n a (Prakash Raj) is a local leader who always helps the poor. When a truck collides with the car his brother and he are in, Shankar goes into a coma. But the rest of the world thinks he is killed in that accident, except his family. His son, Ajay (Mahesh Babu), is a cop in Mumbai who fights against the mafia. When he heads to Turkey to nab a mafia leader, he meets Prashanthi (Samantha), daughter of Ajay's senior police officer and soon falls in love with her.
When he returns to India, he finds out that his father's accident was planned by a mafia leader Naik (Sonu Sood). Ajay wants to take revenge on Raju Naik. Meanwhile, Shankar Narayan is out of coma, but doctors warn that he will go back to that state if he ever hears any shocking news. So, Ajay has to keep him happy, even as he plots to kill the mafia don.
"Dookudu" is a typical Srinu Vytla film with a generous sprinkling of comedy. His
narrative manages to keep the audience engaged until the end of the movie. The dialogues with that extra 'punch' suit Mahesh perfectly. Kudos to Kona Venkat who penned the dialogues.
Mahesh carries the film all the way with his performance. Whether he's playing the tough cop or emoting as the sensitive son — the actor shines in ever scene. His dialogue delivery and mannerisms continue to impress — a few dialogues that he delivers in the Telangana accent is commendable and so are his comic scenes. The scene where Mahesh Babu talks about Samantha, without knowing that she is hearing, is to watch out for.
Samantha looks beautiful and has done a great job, though her role isn't too lengthy. Prakash Raj is brilliant as usual. The scenes with both Prakash Raj and Mahesh Babu are very emotional.
Like in his earlier films, Srinu Vytla brings in Brahmanandam for the laughs. Along with MS Narayana, the comedian manages to do just that. Sonu Sood, who plays a baddie again, plays his part effortlessly. Subbaraju and Sayaji Shinde are good in their roles.
The music manages to impress and so does KV Guhan's cinematography — the movie looks very stylish.
This movie comes as a blessing for not just Mahesh Babu, but also for Tollywood, which is badly in need of a hit, after the recent spate of box office debacles. Srinu Vytla and Mahesh Babu have come out with a winner in "Dookudu".

A still from 'Dookudu'
