yaar, so true. i have seen marriages from our culture this is true. ok

arrange marriage let's see

they get married

they consumate

they produce childrens

desis woman become obessed after marriage

And, they only stay together bec of children and bec they can't find any one else, and it's rare to see old folks romancing in our culture.

nidhshara no that means i am not marrying a desi guy. if i do , he has to be very modern. sorry, i balance tradition with modernism, but i do not wanna end up like my mum. my parents have nearly knocked on divorce doors 3 times bec they had arrange marriage, and i don't wanna base my marriage on compromise or get married out of pressure., .😳

Hey Syria. Arrange marriage is not that bad as people think.But arrange marriage done between two illiterates does cause damage. Let the man be illiterate but he SHOULD have the courtesy to be fair with his wife. I do not mind illiteracy among the husbands until and unless they don't injustice with their wives.
In the olden times, it was like a trend, a husband beating his wife, but its no more.
Whatever you said is true but it does not happen in every case. It depends upon the understanding between the husband and wife. Like people say, husband and wife shouldn't have 10 years age difference. Person A and B marries with 10 year age diff and due to that they aren't happy, where as person X and Y marries with same 10 year age difference but live happily. That's because Person AB has no understanding or most probably, mis-understanding where as Person XY don't have. :D
I see alot of cases in the newspapers, etc where man-wife aren't happy even after 10-15 years of marriage. That totally shows THEIR upbringing, personalities and mis-understandings :)
However, I agree on the joke, marriage is like chewingum, munh mein daala, its very tasty but then later on, it becomes tasteless. But its fact, if you have understanding and love with your partner, you cannot live without him/her. :D

nidhshara thanks i guess the influence of seeing so many failed marriages has changed my p.v. on marriageand. never know i might not even get marry, but i do believe on it. i am so confused. if i do get married , i will in my early 30's. Mahi, i know marriage is more than compromise. it's trust, and being able to have equal partnership. it's just that i have seen so many fail bad examples of arrange marriage in my dad's family, i guess it took a toll on me, and also there are some excellent arrange marrriage on my mum's side, but those have not been able to recover the damage of what my uncle marraige example have done to me, and even my parents struggling failing marriage previously. my uncle has got divorced 3 times, and my aunt.

And, ur right it's about upbringing and all. i guess ur enviorment shapes a huge role ur pv on marriage. to me when i do get married, i just wanna be sure that person is right.😳
