Rani Mukerji with brother Raja

Rani Mukerji's brother Raja and his wife Jyoti Mukerji are expecting their first baby in April this year. Jyoti is almost six months pregnant now. Raja and Jyoti had a love marriage.

They met through a group of common friends and went around for a few years before getting married in 2000.

Yes, it's true

When contacted, Raja confirmed that he was going to become a proud papa. "I am the happiest man on earth. This is our first baby and it is a very special moment for both of us."

After Prratima (Sahara One) went off air, Jyoti has been keeping a low profile. She has hardly been seen at social gatherings. Says Raja, "Jyoti is doing fine and taking adequate rest. She will not be working for some time now."

Rani is thrilled

Raja further reveals that sister Rani Mukerji is in great spirits. "Rani is very excited about the fact that there is going to be an addition at home. She is going to be a pishi (aunt) for the first time. This will be the first baby in our family and we are all excited about it."

Raja and Jyoti have decided that their first baby will be born in Mumbai. Have the parents-to-be thought of any names for the baby? "No, we haven't done that, simply because we don't know if it's a boy or a girl," he laughs.

Raja's production front

Raja is gearing up with two serials. He will be producing a serial called Kahkashan —based on a Muslim girl (played by Dimple Inamdar) in search of her father — for a new channel called Kitab Entertainment.

Mukerji has also been assigned another serial for Doordarshan. As for his Bengali film, he says that it will now kick off in August. "I have spoken to Dia Mirza about it, but she hasn't signed it as yet," he adds.
