chapter-31Geet shivered within his hold reminiscising the haunted memories of the horrendous night.
He touched me maan...he touched me with his filthy hands...she cried in between her hiccups, while maan felt terrible seeing his life completely devasted in his arms. His heart felt stabbed as her words stung his ears while tears made their way through his unshaved cheeks. He couldn't even imagine how miserable her condition would have been. She was so fragile, so innocent and pure and had to undergo the worst of situations and only bcoz of his lack of vigilance and trust. If he had sensed the murky intentions of ronak way before, she wouldn't have to suffer all this. But he was proud of his love, proud at the strenght she had to endure so much alone. Had it been any other girl in her place, she might have crumbled by now.
Geet cried endlessly untill no more tears were left. All the while maan held her close to him as he knew she was in a state of emotional wreck. Letting out so much from within her heart in just one go actually left her exhausted and weak...!!
He knew he had forced her to let out too much at a time, but he also knew how necessary it was. He gently patted her back to hush her and slowly she calmed down. They stayed like that losing the track of time. Her hiccups subsided and feeling light headed she drifted off to sleep. Maan felt her warm and steady breath on his upper chest and looked at her tilting his head. How serene and peaceful she looked now, just like the dead calm atmosphere after a hazardous storm.
Ever so gently, he picked her up in his arms, making sure that her sleep is not disturbed. He came to her room and slowly placed her on the bed and tucked the spread properly. He looked at her lovingly and turned around to move out when he felt a tug on his hand. Stopping in his tracks he turned around and found his hand in tight grip of geet while she kept murmuring feebly...!!
Maan bend closer to her to hear her words and was shocked...
Plzz...do...don't leave me...maan...her voice had a pleading tone like her life rested on that grip.
Maan sat by her side holding her hand firmly and bend down kissing her hand which gripped his, giving a silent promise never to leave her alone...ever...!!
He sat there for hours caressing her hair softly thinking about the time when they were together before the accident...
FLASHBACK-Maan I don't think its a good idea, see the water is seems so cold and...and dangerous...said geet looking nervously at the pool.
Maan shook his head as geet said the same thing for the umpteenth time. He crossed his arms across his broad chest making his muscles bulge more and making his strong shoulders more prominent and gave her its-not-going-to-work look...!!
Geet, remove your robe and step forward...maan ordered in a stern voice while geet made a baby face.
Her looks were not moving maan and she knew she can't escape. Taking a deep breath geet opened her robe and dropped iton the nearby chair. Maan has atleast shown some mercy allowing her to wear a body fitting top and trouser instead of a swimsuit.
Ok, so lets get inside the water...maan said offering her his hand and geet passed a nervous smile to him to which he simply rolled his eyes and grbbed her hand.
As they were about to get inside the pool, geet stopped maan and asked with genuinely scared eyes...
Maan, are you sure...??
Maan pressed her assuringly and replied with a soft voice...
Am I...??...he paused and cupped her face tenderly...geet,that day at the party when I saw you drowning, I felt my life was leaving me. So, I want you to learn swimming to avoid any such mishap in future...!!
Seeing geet still looking at the water with uncertainty, he sighed and said...
I won't let anything happen to you geet...I promise...!!
Geet could just drown herself in his eyes, so much confidence and love was there. Nodding with a smile geet grabbed maan's hand tightly and entered the pool.
FLASHBACK ENDS...Maan closed his eyes and relish the memory. He thanked his stars that he taught geet swimming otherwise she might have...maan choked as the thought struck him. Glancing a look at geet he vowed to protect her. She has faced a lot in this short span of her life and now he'll make sure the rest of her life is full of happiness. Yes, he'll heal her wounds with his love. He'll make her forget all the bitter memories she have and replace them with new happy ones. He kept thinking about geet and slept holding her hand...!!

Morning rays brightened the foggy weather of shimla, dispelling the obscurity surrounding the atmosphere. A new day had arrived, with a new ray of hope.
Crossing the glass window the rays entered a room where two souls were sleeping sondly...after a long time. There was an ambience of love covering them, while they slept in a blissfull oblivion.
The rays, inspite of being weak, disturbed maan's sleep and he opened his eyes with a frown. Blocking the path of rays to his face he turned to the other side only to be greeted with the most beautiful vision in the world. A smile instantly touched lips as he found geet so close to him, cuddled up. The view replayed the memorable incident of them, just an year back when they had first met in the same city. The way he found her all cuddled into him in the jungle that time was the most cherished moment of his life and here he was lucky enough to relive the same ecstacy.
Bringing his lips close to her forehead, he placed a soft kiss and wished her softly...
Good morning mishty...!!
But geet was in deep slumber to hear him, let alone responding. He waited for a second and then decided to get up before she awakes as she would be embarrased. Moreover he didn't even know whether she has forgave him or not and to add to her reservations for him was the last thing he wished for...!!
Releasing himself from her hold without disturbing her sleep, he got up and left the room. He was thinking on the lines to bring back geet's smile while coming out of the room when he encountered a very amused dadi and he knew he was in for some teasings.
Maan, aap geet ke room mein...??...she smirked getting her bakra caught red handed and continued...
What were you doing in geet's room...??...maan rolled his eyes at dadi and replied nonchalantly...
Dadi, its nothing what you are thinking. Geet was very disturb last night, so I was just looking after her...!!
Dadi's expression changed from a smile to worry as she enquired...
What happened maan...??...geet thik toh hai na...??
Yes dadi, she is and I'll make sure she'll always be...man said with confidence...uh, actually she was tired and is sleeping now...!!
Dadi was surprised to hear maan about geet's oversleeping, but then she understood the reason...
Its been long she had a sound sleep...dadi said looking out of the window as they walked into the hall...maan, let her sleep...!!
They sat there for sometime in silence untill maan broke it...

Dadi gave him a surprised look and then asked with a glint of mischief in her eyes...

Maan replied with a calm and genuine expression...for telling me geet's location or else I wouldn't have found her...!!
Dadi smiled softly at maan and nodded in acceptence saying...
You better not let her go now...!!

Geet got up clutching her head as the excessive crying previous night caused her a severe headache. Lifting up her eyelids she accustomed her eyes to the surrounding and an immediate frown wrinkled her forehead...
When did I came to my room...??...she thought aloud and got an instant reply
You didn't, I brought you here...said maan holding a tray with two coffees in his hand and moved towards the table...
Good morning geet...he greeted her with a warm smile keeping the tray on the table
Geet looked at him and the previous night's conversation came invading her mind. Suddenly feeling conscious she pushed the soft tendrils of her hair behind her ear...
Good morning...she replied meekly...uh, I need to freshen up...saying so she rushed to the washroom
She came back after about 15 minutes wiping her face with a towel and found maan still waiting...!!
Good you came...he said cheerfully...here, have your coffee before it gets cold again...!!
He was trying his best to be normal with her not wanting to make her self-conscious around him. He just wanted to see a smile on geet's face and was ready to do anything for it. On the other hand geet was confused as well as surprised. Not once maan showed any kind of pity on her. He was like her old maan, but then she remembered her decision to stay away from him...
Thanks maan, but you don't have to do all this...she said with a serious face...I am fine...!!
Her cold voice hurt him, but he knew he deserved no less...
Geet, when have I said otherwise...he paused looking at her...I just want to accompany you...there was a sincerity in his words which didn't went unnoticed by geet and compelled her to accept his request. Sighing softly she nodded and both sipped their coffee silently...!!

It was evening. Whole day maan tried to be near geet while she let him be. Though she wanted to avoid him, but he kept her engaged in conversation with him tactfully regarding the business. Maan was amazed by the excellence and presence of mind geet showed in his absence. She actually monitered whole KC sitting here in shimla with the help of adi and pinky. Maan felt like falling all over again for geet. She actually kept the promise she gave to him before he left to chandigarh, indeed.
Geet messaged adi to reach shimla as soon as possible with every important information and details of current status. Now they were waiting for adi.
As the door bell rang announcing adi's arrival, geet went to open the door.
A worried adi entered the hall and asked instantly...
Geet, you messaged me to come urgently...is everything alright...??
Geet smiled at adi's anxiety. He has always been like this since the day he left them here. He was an elder brother to geet, who could do anything to help his little sister.
Everything is fine adi sir...she said with a small smile and then added signalling in a direction...actually never better...!!
Adi turned his gaze to the direction and was shocked out of his wits. He cleaned his glasses with his hanky and looked again...
Yes it was his boss only,the one and only maan singh khurana...his mind confirmed sending a deluge of happiness through his heart. Maan was standing in a corner watching the change of expression on ad's face and was equally delighted to see his most trusted employee and a good friend after such a long time.
Adi reached maan and hugged him without thinking. His eyes were moist while his heart filled with gratitude for the lord to send back maan...!!
Maan was taken aback with adi's sudden hug, but then reciprocated and patted his back slightly...
I am so happy maan sir, you are alive...came adi's genuine words while maan smiled in return
They settled on the chairs for some serious work as maan was too keen to get back what was his and to snatch away everything ronak has, even more...!!
Adi told him how ronak removed most of the trusted staffs from the office after geet left and the first one to receive the termination letter was him...
Adi, how did you got your job back...??...maan asked in a curious tone
Adi smirked at his question and replied...sir, though I knew it was tough, but I had to stay back so I joined hands with ronak...!!
Maan frowned deeper hearing adi, but then his expressions softened and a smirk adorned his lips as he realized the hidden meaning behind adi's words...!!
Ronak may have the major shares right now, but he certainly didn't have the brain to understand the depth of business...adi said informing about the losses ronak brought due to his bluntness. Maan always knew ronak was a bit careless and so never trusted him with major projects completely. The details which adi showed maan stunned him. If KC had been left completely at ronak's mercy, it would have crashed...!!
The more adi elaborated ronak's misdoings, the more maan's anger escalated. He felt so cheated.
Sir, ronak has really hampered the image of KC. We are losing our permanent clients and the new ones are hesitating to trust us with even small projects...adi said in a worried tone.
Don't worry adi, I won't let that bas***d tarnish my grandfather's and father's prestige and hardwork...maan was furious and geet got anxious with his rising anger. It was the reason she has kept mum about her past fearing maan's reaction, but now things were again going in that way. He was so getting vindictive and angered with the relevations and thus she feared how would he react when she'll tell him about the ugliest deeds of ronak and his father which she hasn't yet confined in anyone...!!
But sir, how'll we stop him. As per the agreement signed by the BOD he is the major share holder right now in geet's absence...adi asked
I know about every agreement adi and geet is still the major shareholder for everyone knows only about my death while its only ronak who have assumed geet to be...maan left he words uncomplete not able to voice. For a moment maan looked at geet and then averted it not wanting to remind her of any of those awful incidents.
Its time now, that maan sinh khurana come infront of them...there was a fire in maan's eyes...its time for showdown...!!
Hearing maan's words geet abruptly stood up which made both maan and adi startled and they looked at her with questionng confused eyes...
You are not going infront of them...!!
She said in a tone of finality and stormed inside her room.
