The scene starts with the auction of the haveli, and the bid reaches twenty lakhs and stops there, and Sarju becomes the new owner of the haveli, and all people gathered there clap their hands.  On his way out the money lender, Lala, who had hasseled Sarju's family in the past, and had humiliated them, looks at him angrily, and says "Hari Om, Hari Om" and walks off.

At home, Phoolmani is pounding the chillies, and Laxmi tells Ramdei, that being the Mistress of the Haveli, will bring her a lot of respect in the village.   She suggests that Sarju should buy it, and Radha opposes her and says, this present house is very precious to them.    She tells them that their house means more to them than the haveli, and they will never leave this house and go away to any other house.    Vishnoo comes in with loud noise telling every one they they should celebrate.  He tells them why.    He tells that that Sarju baought if for the highest bid.  He and his mother and wife are excited, but Ramdei and Radha are not.   As Laxmi explains, Ramdei begins to smile.   Sarju comes in and tells his mother rhat he bought the haveli.    He says, that his mother is the Mistress of the Haveli from today.    She praises Sarju, for making the name of their family famous.  Radha and Laachi, do not seem to be very happy.     Ramdei hits Laxmi a sarcastic barb, saying she is not under her son, but he respects her more, and has given all authority to her.   Laxmi's face drops.

As time passes, Heeraman and Shamboo comes and see the commotion in the compound and they ask what the excitement is about, and his wife tells him about the purchase of the haveli.    The mother tells Sarju, that it was good he bought the haveli, as their present house was quite small.   Phoolmani asks her mother in law, if they will be staying in the haveli, and she tells her that she will rule the haveli.

Radha let off her bombshell.  She says, "We will not go into that haveli."    All stare at her in surprise.   Sarju walks towards her and stops in front of her and asks why.   She tells him, "This house is more precious in my eyes, as it is connected to memories of our forefathers.  I came as a daughter in law into this house, and I will never leave it at any cost"   He tells her "Do you not want all of us to stay together in happiness like every one wants?"   He tries to tell her different angles which will make his parents happy, and asks if she still is firm in what she says.

Laxmi and Phoolmani discuss whether they too will be taken to the new haveli.    Phoolmani goes in search of Laachi, who was washing clothes.  She was not down.   Finds her on the terrace, and tells her that she will help but Laachi does not want to take her help.    Phoolmani instigates Laachi and she warns Phoolmani.   She tells her to mind her own business.

Laxmi brings tea to all the older people sitting in the courtyard, and she makes a gloomy face, and then Shamboo asks her what is bothering her.   She tries to get his sympathy, so that he invites them to stay with them in the haveli.   Ultimately she comes to the point, and offers to take care of their old house.  She pretends to sob, and Shamboo's heart melts, and tells his wife to see Laxmi, and she gets up to go to Laxmi, who thinks that her arrow has struck her heart.

In the preview, we are shown Radha and Laachi, trying to find out where the clinic has been set up, and are told it is in the Post Office itself, and Phoolmani hears them and wants to find out more about the affair.
