GEET GOES TO MEET MAAN AT THE CAFETERIA.
GEET ST: I have to get hold of myself.i don't know whats happening to me.
SHE GOES AND SITS WITH MAAN.
Geet: Yes,tell me.Whats so urgent?
Maan: First promise me you'll agree to what it is.
Geet: First tell me what it is.
Maan: Don't you trust me?
(HE STARED INTO HER EYES DEEPLY,GEET WAS LOST.SHE BROKE AWAY.)
Geet: I do but…
Maan: I thought we were friends.Anyway,leave it.
Geet: Ok,I agree. Now tell me.
(MAAN SMILES)
GEET ST: Oh god,What have I done?
Maan: I was thinking that I should start meeting people more. You know.Girls.
Geet: And where do I fit into this?
(SHE LOOKS DOWN AND STARTS FIDDLING WITH HER TOP.)
Maan: Well…I thought…
GEET ST: I've landed myself in a big problem.How will I say no to him?
Geet: What did u think?
Maan: Well,it was u who said…
Geet: I said what?
Maan: That Annie was interested in me.So I thought I'd try her first.
Geet: U… want to get together with…Annie?
Maan: Yes,who else? Unless you've got a better person in mind?
Geet: N…no.But where do I come into this?
Maan: Well,I thought u could talk to her about it,u know? Im not good at this sort of thing.All the girls come up to me usually.
(HE GRINS COCKILY.)
G: I cant do this.Im sorry.
(SHE GETS UP TO LEAVE,M STOPS HER)
M: Why? Whats wrong?
G: That… I cant play around with annie. If it doesn't work,she'll blame me. And I don't want yo have to go through that.
M: It wont go wrong.I really like her.I think we have a connection.
G: Still.I cant.
M: u cant do this much for me? Great friend you are.
G: Look u need to do this urself.I don't want to interfere.
M: Look,think about it and tell me tomorrow.Just think about how happy annie will be.You sed she liked me,Didn't u? So? Why are u being so selfish?
G: Im not being selfish.You don't know the real..-
M: Real Reason?What is the real reason,then?
G: Nothing.i told u the reason.
M: u were saying something.
(GEET WALKS AWAY FROM HIM SO HE CANT SEE HER FACE)
G:Yes.. you don't know the real Geet.
(SHE CLOSES HER EYES)
G: I'll do it for you.I'll talk to Annie About it.
(A TEAR ROLLS DOWN HER CHEEK)

GEET WALKING HOME SLOWLY.SHE HAS TEARS IN HER EYES.
GEET ST: Why does this always happen to me? Whats wrong with my destiny?
SHE IS CRYING.
GEET ST: Why did it take me so long to realize I was in in love? And when I did,there was no point.Because He likes my best friend.What should I do? When Maan told me he wanted me to set him up with annie,there was a pain in my heart.It felt as if I was being ripped apart. And now I have to see them together all the time ? And I have to pair them together because of the promise I gave to maan? The promise that is giving me such pain. But I'll have to do it. No matter how much it hurts,I'll have to.I'll have to sacrifice my love for my friend.Why am I the one who has to make the sacrifices? Why?
SHE ARRIVES AT HER HOUSE.HER FACE IS TEAR STAINED.EVERYONE IS STARING AT HER.HER MUM RUNS UP TO HER.
Mum: Geet,Whats wrong? Whats happened to you?
GEET IS IN A DAZE AND SHE GOES TO HER ROOM IGNORING EVERYONE.SHE LOCKS THE DOOR AND FALLS ON THE FLOOR.
SHE IS CRYING UNCONTROLLABLY.
Mum:Geet,open the door.
Geet: Mum,leave me alone.I don't want to talk to anyone.
Mum: Ok,as u wish.But look after urself.
SHE LEAVES
Geet: Why should I look after myself? When I don't want to live anymore? Rather than living through the torture of seeing my love become someone else's and that too my be my best friend and having to pair them together with my own hands,it would be better to die. Because if I have to go through that,even though I'll be alive outside,inside I'll be dead.
SCENE CHANGE.
MAAN DRIVING.
Maan: What did I see in Geets eyes today? Pain or anger? Tears of happiness or hurt? I don't know why I cant bear to see tears in geets eyes.But I want to know what she really feels for me.Because I know that im changing because of her.But is my method of finding out right? Or wrong?
SCENE CHANGE.ITS 1'O'CLOCK.GEET SUDDENLY WAKES UP COVERED IN SWEAT CRYING.
Geet: Whats happening to me? Why do I feel like crying all the time? Whenever I close my eyes,why do I see only him? This will drive me crazy.But this must be a side effect of love. Nausea,feeling like every minute is a day,Crying.All this happens in films.But its happening to me aswell.Now I know that I wont be able to forget Maan.He's too big a part of me.So,I'll have to go away from him.
SCENE CHANGE.MAAN LYING IN BED TOSSING AND TURNING.
Maan: Why am I thinking of geet so much? Why cant I forget the expressions in her eyes when she was running away from me? Im sure I saw hurt.But why? Does she…? No.She made it clear from the beginning that she wasn't interested in me.So Why? I'll have to ask her in the morning.
SCENE CHANGE.THE MORNING AFTER.MAAN ARRIVES IN COLLEGE AND GOES TO THEIR USUAL SPOT.ANNIE IS THERE BUT GEET ISNT.
Maan: Hi,Annie.
Annie: Hi
Maan: Have u seen Geet? Shes not here today? I needed to talk to her urgently.
Annie: No, I tried ringing her but her phones off.
Maan: Do u have her house number?
Annie: Yeah,that's a good idea.I'll try it.
THE BELL RINGS.
Annie: At lunch. Got to go. Bye
Maan: 1 minute. Can I have the number?
Annie: Yes, sure.
SHE GIVES IT AND LEAVES IT.
Maan: I'll find out where u are Geet and what's wrong. And that's MSK's Promise.
