An unforgettable memory from a wedding?

My own wedding was a big fat Punjabi affair that lasted for 6-7 days. Our relatives were staying in hotels close by and would be at our place every night with a dhol and music. I was really exhausted by the time the day of the actual wedding arrived and was half asleep during the pheras (laughs). There is another hilarious incident that is memorable. Our wedding was held at the Rock Gardens in Chandigrah and my husband was coordinating the time that he should arrive with my brother. My husband reached the venue on time but I got delayed because of my makeup guy. My husband started getting worried when I did not reach. Runaway Bride was a very popular movie at that time so my husband told my brother- I hope Karishma is wearing heels and not sports shoes (laughs).

What part of weddings do you enjoy most?

When it comes to such things I am orthodox. I love all the rituals including the haldi and pooja. These days people say they want to have a simple court marriage but I love big fat Punjabi weddings.

Your favourite wedding song?

There is this Punjabi folk song sung during the bidaai. I cant remember the lyrics right now but it is the father of the bride who sings it.

An unforgettable memory from a wedding?

It has to be my cousin's wedding which took place when I was about 21 years old. It was the first wedding of our generation in the family and memorable because the entire family got together. I met some relatives whom I did not even know about (laughs). After that the entire family has never been able to meet because the plan never works out.

What part of weddings do you enjoy most?

It's the entire family coming together to celebrate the occasion.

Your favourite wedding song?

I love Taare Hai Baraati from Viraasat because the song is very melodious and the lyrics are romantic.
