Popular Tamil and Telugu actress Meena delivered a baby girl at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on January 1. The actress delivered her first-born at at 11.30 am on Saturday morning. Sources say that Dr. Nirmala Jaishankar, who also is the gynecologist for actress Jyotika, was present at Meena's delivery.
Meena tied the knot with Vidhyasagar, a software engineer from Bengaluru in July 2009. Meena, the child artiste-turned-heroine has acted with all top actors in Kollywood and Tollywood and she has the hnour of acting with Superstar Rajinikanth in the maximum number of movies. The film Muthu, where she was paired opposite Rajini catapulted her fame to dizzy heights in Japan and she still has a huge Japanese fan following. Recently, Meena has been seen in the Tamil film Mariyadhai with Vijayakant and Vegamamba in Telugu. Being close friend of the Rajinikanth family, the actress ensured that she was present at Soundarya Rajinikanth's wedding in September along with her husband, despite the fact that she was pregnant.
"Meena and the baby are both fine. The mother and daughter are healthy. We are extremely happy and we have been getting calls since morning from her colleagues in the industry, congratulating us on the new arrival," revealed Meena's mother, while talking to this newspaper.
