Mandu, I think Annie's toned down look is thanks to the furore in the FB and IF. If CVs have any wish to retain their flock they have to do damage control and keep that brat under leash.

Since my nightmare solution for explaining Annie is not going to work considering they are going full scale into it, here is another way out to the CVs. Why not make Annie a psychiatric case who Maan had met during one of Dadi's hospital stay, maybe a couple of years back? Maybe the girl had a brother who resembled Maan (and who died, resulting in her insanity) and seeing Maan she immediately connected with him, thinking he is her bro. Her doctor could have requested him to play along so that she can be treated. Maan obliged and so did Daadi. Since then they consider her as part of the family but she lives elsewhere. This will explain why both of them did not think of her earlier and had not invited her to earlier functions in the house. It could also explain all those suitcases of gifts (which may have been bought by the look alike bro and may have been continued by Maan to keep up the pretenses). It could also explain why Maan jumps to please her because she could lose her head again if she does not get her way.

@Opti....they don't even have to get that creative, they can just say that since she was so young that they decided not to get her involved in the scandal or Maan's accident that's why she wasn't there. As to why she wasn't at the previous engagement, say it was her final exam and couldn't come. At the very least I at least want them to have some dialog to explain her presence.
