On 14th June 2010, journey of this show started but expectations were high from this show even before its launch, first of all due to the association of so big names and secondly the statement of Ekta Kapoor that Tere Liye is not the one show which audiences have watched so many times on their screen with same facts and concepts of multiple marriages and vamps but something to which audience can relate, a lovestory which will take people back to their phase from where they experienced love for the very first time, understood what is love.
And this statement made it all, increasing hopes even more with the creatives, concepts and story.
Though with such desperate wait there were things also that were not so in favour of Tere Liye but leaving everything behind Tere Liye is here, standing one among all, right from his launching day consistently making in Top 10 shows on the screen.
And finally achieving a big milestone, successful run of 100 episodes.
So here we are gather to celebrate the achievement which would not have been possible without strong concept of the show, simplicty and uniqueness of the shots and flawless job by each member associated with the show.
And not to forget the fans who were always there with the shows and actors to support them and with their full trust on them.
But well before going on lets reminisce our Tere Liye Days, its story, its characters which compelled us to fall in love with the show
Tere Liye, is the story based on Love and Sacrifices which two best friends do for each other. Basically its about how they both can go to an extent to give happiness to the other one. Even for that they have to face failure, but they are happy with that failure if their best friend receives happiness in it. It shows how deeply they both love each other.
Story begins with a girl, who is running to meet someone in a Mental Asylum. After a lot of struggle she manages to meet a patient over there. Asked by a nurse that why she is here?? and what's her relation with this Patient?? Girls replied that she is Tani and this is Anurag, her husband. And today she came to know about him. Further girl is shown telling that Nurse her story and how Anurag and Tani met.
10 years back
Tani and Anurag were shown as two best friends. Together they had so much fun.Sometimes they teases each other and sometimes becomes the shoulder for the other one. Anurag had a crush on his teacher.On the same day when he confesses his feeling to Tani about this, due to some reasons their parents arranges their secret marriage. Tani tries to refuse it. As she never thought that she will marry Anurag. For her Anurag was her best friend, her save harbor, but he can't be her husband. Both the parents make Tani understand that they are doing it for some reasons, and this is just to make sure that they both belong to each other. And no one from out side knows about it. When they will grow up, they will make it a grand event to celebrate their marriage. On so much insisting, Tani agrees to marry Anurag.
This Marriage created problem for both Anurag and Tani. As both the kids didn't knew the meaning of their relation now. They stopped talking to each other. But that wasn't for long. They knew that they wont be able to ignore each other for a long time. One day when Tani saw Anurag crying, she couldn't controlled herself and went to console him. And then each passing day, again they both became really close friends. And every thing seems like to be in place.
After that, love starts to blossom between Anurag And Tani. But maybe there was something else written in their destiny. Anurag's sister gets married to a man Ritesh. He is a greedy sort of a person. One day he found out that Anurag's dad have given some share of his property to Tani. He couldn't digest it and thought of creating trouble between the two family. He was accomplished with his mission. Few misunderstanding took place between them and two family apart. In result of which Tani's dad dies, as he couldn't accept that now two family can not be one again. His death reveals the secret behind Anurag and Tani's marriage. As he knew that he wont be able to live more because he was suffering through brain tumor. So both the friends, Shekar and Bimalendu, decides that they will make Tani to marry Anurag and in this way Tani's future would be secure. But this couldn't happen. As after Bimalendu's death Banerjee Family decides to leave Calcutta and never to come back, while Ganguly Family stays in Calcutta but Shekar makes Anurag to fly away from Calcutta to America. Where he would be away from Tani. And then due to fate they both had to live without each other.
Then there is a leap of 8 years.
Tani is shown as a grown-up. She is now a teacher and sometimes even go to studio to get her song recorded but not a famous singer. Whole Banerjee family are staying at some other place except Taposh, Tani's brother. Who is still in Calcutta. Now Banerjee fammily have enough amount to get their shop back. So Tani decides to go back Calcutta alone to get her shop. Laboni tries to stop her as she doesn't want Anurag and Tani to meet again after these long years.
On the other hand Anurag is shown in America. He is rich businessman, and his woork is more than his dad. And now Shekar wants him to comeback to India but its Anurag now who doesn't want to meet Shekar again as he is the one because of whom he got separated with his Tani. But finally he too decides to comeback to Calcutta, to get Tani's shop back for Tani.
Tani is shown super excited about her returns but then she remembers her promise which she did with Laboni that she wont meet any of Ganguly family. Her friends came to recieve her. And on her way to home Subodh, Tani's friend ask her if she would work as a nurse with him. Tani accepts the offer. Later on a grand evet is shwon where Shekar is honoured an award for best business. In that part Ananya's daughter gets hurt and she calls a doctor. That doctor has to be Subodh and along with him Tani too comes in that party. Subodh was about to tell Ganguly family about Tani but she tells them her fake name.
Later on when Ganguly family reaches back home, they find Anurag there. everyone is shocked to see him back. He says he is only for a day or two and would leave soon. next morning Tani is shown some office. She shouts at the man that how can he sold her shhop to someone else. he knew tthat she would be coming back to get it. He says that today morning some guy came and offered him double amount for this shop and then he agrees to give it. He says if you want this shop back then go and search for that guy, he just left this place. Tani rushes out to see how that guy is. He is none other than anurag. but tani doesn't know this as she haven't seen Anurag in these 8 years. Tani tries to tell Anurag that this is her shop and he doesn't have any right on it. But Anurag says that now this shop belongs to him and leaves.
Late that night, Anurag is shown opening the doors of Bhemlendu's shop. And their arrives Tani. She rushes inside before him and grabs laughing budda idol. Anurag tries to stop her again but this time Tani in full anger says that you can have this shop as you have paid double amount for this but you can not get this laughing budda this beliongs to me and my only friend. And then Anurag comes to know that this is Tani. Anurag goes at Tani's place and tells her that he is Anurag. After a long time both the friends met each other. They both are damn happy to see each other.
After that Laboni too comes back to Calcutta. She questioned Tani that how can she break her promise. Tani tries to explain her that in these 8 years she have always waited for Anurag to return and when he came how can she stay away from her. Neelu plans a party to celebrate Anurag's return. She tell Laboni that in this party they will announce surprise engagement for Tani and Anurag. As it was planned, when Neelu announces this. Tani is o happy to hear t as she was waiting for this day to come. On the other hand Anurag was shocked. As in these 8 years when he was alone and no one there with him. He fall in love with Nupur. So he refuses to get engaged to Tani.Tani is all shattered and immediately leaves that place.
This Announcement of Tani and Anurag's engagement was heard by Anurag's girlfriend, Nupur. She attempts suicide, But she was saved by Subodh. Subodh goes to Tani and asks her to company him with this case as it is a severe one. Tani, who wasn't even able to digest this reality gets agree to help someone. She doesn't know that whom she is helping is none other than Nupur. And when she see Anurag with Nupur and was trying to make Nupur understand that he doesn't love Tani, she is just friend to him and he only loves Nupur. Tani again is deeply hurt by Anurag's words.
We saw entry of Nupur, love of Anurag's life and with this, Taani shattered into pieces, the person she loved from the day she understood what is love is no longer hers, he belongs to some other person and this fact affected their friendship as well, it was not like Taani wanted Anurag to get separte from nupur but it was she was not being able to endure her heart break.And this state of Taani, made laboni to curse Anurag & whole Ganguly Family and she challenged Neelu that she will find a better and mire richer person for taani and will get her married in 1 month. She looked for many but none could turned out eligible for taani.
Finally to make her laboni mom's word true, Anurag, himself suggested a friend who was a NRI and came just to get married but initially nothing fall into place as soon as Sushant came to know about Taani's childhood marriage.But fortunately or coincidently, Sushant was the same guy, which her mom also found for taani but yet again it turned out not so good thing and Sushant left with bad impression of Taani but well luck is always with these two and wanted them to meet so Sushant turned out to be the person, who owns a music company and taani was chosen as the lead singer for his new album.
Days passed and Sushant developed feelings for Taani. On the other hand both the friends, Tani and Anurag, tries to maintain their friendship. Anurag wants both the family to unite again and now he can see this happening as once again Sushant proposed Tani for getting married to him. He says he knows about Tani's past and now is ready to accept her with it.. Tani knows this that in her life no one can take Anurag's place but due to her mother's wish and happiness she says yes to Sushant.
Celebrations of two marriages are going on. Shekar decides to get them engaged on the same day. But again due to Ritesh, this couldn't happen and later on they decides Anurag and Nupur to have their Ashirwaad ceremont first and the Shushant and Tani. But before this all could happen some misunderstanding grow up between Sushant and Tani. Due to which Sushant leaves Calcutta, breaking her relation with Tani. Poor Tani, she was already hurt by Anurag's denial and now Sushant too refuses to marry her. She hides this from everyone and goes to celebrate Anurag's and Nupur's wedding celebrations.
It looked like, Fate had something else for both Anurag and Tani. On the day of Anurag and Nupur's Ashirwaad ceremony, Nupur gets a call from a big modelling company, who wants to make Nupur their next face of model. This was the big opportunity for. But this could only be done when she is not married. At the last moment she calls her marriage off and leaves to America to sign this contract. On the other hand Pandit jee aks Neelu to calls bride. neelu goes to get Nupur but Ritesh shows her Nupur's letter and tells her she left Anurag. All the family members came to know this. Anurag is hurt to know that why in world Nupur will do this to him??? Shekar is worried about the guests. As so many big names are there to attend this ceremony. He requests Tani to say yes to this ashirwaad ceremony and get engage with Anurag. This was the moment Taani was waiting for. buit she know this anurag wont be happy with this. And she can't do anything which is against Anurag. But after a lot of insisting of Labooni, Shekar and Neelu, she agree to do.
When Anurag Came to know this, he asks Tani that why she did it?? tani tells him she did it for Shekar and his reputation. Anurag knew that Tani would be hurt by all this so they both decide to act in a relationship for few days and after that they will explain their family that it was all fake. So finally, whether it was a fake engagement or what, fate binds Anurag and Tani in one relationship.
