Ok so I really think I am going to watch this movie on DVD. I was really hoping that Kajol would be appreciated in this movie and I am so happy she has been--by the critics I trust the most (Anupama and Masand)

wow my to fave reviewers didn't like it...hmmm

So some reviewer dared to mention about Kajol's usual shriking, she is getting way repititive..even I am saying that now.. it seems the role was taylor made for her to do melodrama and she went OTT which was pretty evident in the Jailhouse rock song.. she was still understated in Fanna.. but after that she started going OTT.. urban roles just ain't her thing! Whenever someone tries to make her do something that she is not.. it just goes haywire.. and Kjo just seemed interested in milking her appeal.. but I guess the magic is gone now.

Where's Anupama Chopra's review? i don't see it :/

It's not Anupama's...Anupama still hasn't done hers! Which is a bit weird...

And I definitely think Kajol still has magic left, because even though the movie's being trashed, Kajol's performance is still being considered a saving grace unanimously.

Though I agree, I'd like to see her in something different now. She's done the depressing roles in a row! She's still great at emotional stuff though.

I want Kajol to do an understated role!! She is a very good performer but she definately needs a change.. Kjo is just making her do same stuff.. She has the power to give very convincing performances, but too much of anything starts getting irritating.. that is why she needs to chose different scripts and work with diff people.

I do agree. Even though she's great at emotional stuff, she's done it quite a bit in the recent past...UMAH, MNIK, WAF. So I do want her to venture into a different genre. But I doubt KJo would be able to give her that. KJo breathes and eats melodrama.😆 Also I really hope she doesn't do another movie with Sid, even though the guy's already planned a movie with her in it.

I expected RM to hate it LOL. But he hates lots of movies I liked :P

Even MNIK had mixed reviews to an extent, so I'm not too bothered :)

LOLs sorry I thought it was Anupama's review but I realized when I read it more carefully that it wasn't 😆

Let's not forget this film is all about kajol, and kareena is only a supporting actress. In other words, Kajol has the better role.

Even though kareena doesn't have the better role, am happy that kareena has been appreciated and almost all reviews are saying that she held her own next to kajol. And one review said kareena was better than kajol. That was shocking.
