Gurmeet
Chaudhary, who essays Maan of Star One's 'Geet', was suffering from
Malaria. The doctor advised him to take complete bed rest. But working
under any condition is one of the cruel truths of daily soap and thus
even after being infected with Malaria Gurmeet has folded his sleeves
to complete his shoots at any cost.
Worried Debina says,
"Gurmeet has resumed shooting from yesterday despite doctor's advice to
take complete bed rest. Initially, we thought of shooting the episode
in our house so that he can work from home and take rest. But arranging
for shoot inside the house turned to be a painful affair. It made the
house messier and we were asked to manage for more things which were
quite troublesome. So instead of bringing all the stuff into the house,
Gurmeet decided that he will himself go for the shoot and work for few
hours".
"But I am feeling very worried as tonight I am leaving
for Chennai for my shoot. I won't be here to look after him or to
remind him to take medicines on time. This is making me anxious. Hope
he gets well soon. The production and the channel are sending lots of
'get well soon' wishes but are not giving time to rest. After all its
work which cannot be ignored", says perturbed Debina.

Get well soon Maan! |

Mumbai is in the midst of
the Malaria specter, which is spreading like wild fire. So much so that
it has not even spared the actors from our television world. After
Riddhima fell ill last week, the most recent actor to get the malaria
virus is none other than our very own angry young man Maan aka Gurmeet
Choudhary from Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi on STAR One.

Maan,
who took ill last Saturday, was detected to have malaria and was
hospitalized. However, Maan is not one to sit back. He decided to fight
his illness with a vengeance, and was determined to not let it affect
his daily soap. Maan was released from the hospital on one condition '
NO WORK for a week; so he had to work his way through this restriction.
The thorough professional requested his production house to shoot his
scenes in his house. In a particular romantic scene, Maan had to save
Geet from falling down from the stairs. In spite of his illness, Maan
managed to pull off this physically arduous scene with complete
sincerity. So much for the acting bug!
Gurmeet's fans have showered their love on him through their messages.
There have been numerous people wishing him a speedy recovery. One of
Gurmeet's ardent fans, Neha Pratap Singh, says on SBO fanclubs:
'When you are ill, our sun goes under a cloud. Your presence in our
lives is such a bright joy that everything seems in shadow when you're
not here. When you aren't feeling well, we feel the lack of your
glowing energy and contagious vitality. When you are sick we feel
incomplete, like a jigsaw puzzle with a missing piece; Please rest,
take good care of yourself, and feel better. We miss you and want you
back. Get well soon.'
Some of Maan's friends are angry with the Anopheles mosquito that bit him. Paricy says, on STAR One Forum, 'Some mosquitos have all the damn luck!!! I would have done anything to get a bite out of Maan!!!!'
Star One's Facebook page
too has been flooded with messages from fans, wishing Gurmeet a speedy
recovery. Lalarukh Azher, a Maan-eet fan, says: 'Aww! My sweetheart
Maan, please get well soon.. We all love you and want you back as soon
as possible..Love you Maaneet.'
There's good news for all fans of Maan! On seeing the overwhelming
response, Maan has suggested that he wants to invite one of his fans,
who sends him the most cheerful messages, that just brightens up his
difficult days.
Finally, all's well that ends well. The production house got its
episodes, Maan satisfied his actor self and his fans glad that they
wouldn't have to miss Maan on their favourite show. We wish him a
speedy recovery and hope he gets up and running soon!
