A parody - The Sob Story of Shekhar & Laali!!

Imagine this scene - Laali in her bedroom at Loha's house. She is seven months pregnant. Laali is having TRIPLETS.

(WHAT! Now look here, you watch your tongue! Why can't Laali have triplets? If she can lose her memory after being shot in the stomach, then why - Ok, Ok, I will calm down. But, not another word about the triplets or I will make it QUADRUPLETS, you understand!)

Well back to the story! So fast had Laali become pregnant after coming back home that even Shekhar was surprised. And she had seen the first signs of uncertainty in his eyes. Was he thinking that the babies were not his?

Something had been lost between them in the seven-year separation. Shekhar was no longer the smiling, happy man she had known before. He had become distant, quiet, brooding. There seemed to be long silences between them now. It seemed she could no longer understand him.

Laali had tried talking to him but he did not want to listen. Often he had walked out of the room. He no longer even looked into her eyes. Laali's heart was heavy. She did not want this situation when her babies were born.

Things had to be set right now, Laali thought as Shekhar walked into their room. As usual Shekhar did not even look towards her. She struggled to get up from the bed. In an instant, Shekhar was by her side, helping her up. She could never fault him that - he was attentive to her every need, just like when he was when she was pregnant with Madhav.

"We need to talk," Laali said softly to him. Shekhar was quiet, then turned around to walk away, but this time Laali held on fast to his hand. "We have to talk," she said. "Don't you trust me any longer," she asked him. "It seems you cannot forget the past seven years, can you. You don't even believe that these babies are yours, do you?"

Shekhar turned towards her. His eyes were bright with unwashed tears. "It's not that Laali." He was quiet for a moment, then said: "I can forget that you married another man, and lived in his house for seven years as his wife, I can swallow the fact that you forgot me for seven years.

He said very softly: "I never forgot you and our love for a single moment in those seven years, Laali. But Laali - you not only forgot me but you forgot our love."

His smile was so, so sad. "Was my love not enough? I just wonder that you ever really loved me at all. Do you love me, Laali."

Laali paused for moment to reflect. How could she convince him that it was the essence of his love that had kept her going day by day. That often her heart had yearned for something, she knew not for what. That her life, while it had seemed so full, was so empty.

Now she looked up to speak to Shekhar. But that pause was her undoing. It was a pause too long. As she watched with horror, his eyes went dead ... right in front of her eyes. Shekhar had taken that pause to mean something else. Before she could say anything, he walked out of the room.

It sent a chill through her. Her heart sank. But Laali was a fighter. Not for nothing she was called feisty, gutsy Laali. She squared her shoulders. She was going to bring her husband back to her!!!

This was going to be the biggest challenge of her entire life. Every experience in her life would be peanuts compared to this.

Laali knew how she was going to bring Shekhar back to her. And her eyes gleamed with anticipation ...
