Dear members,
I've been hearing that haldi (Turmeric powder) helps to remove a tan and get fair skin. I wanted to see if that was true. I'm naturally very fair and got a slight tan a long time ago and used haldi on my skin, hoping to get my original skin colour back. However, it only made my skin yellow. But that was only the first time I tried it and after that I never tried it again. I don't understand how the haldi helps to make you fair. Is it like a bleach or something? Like, if you are naturally dark-skinned and if you were to use haldi, would it actually lighten your skin?...and how long will it take to see results?...
Sorry, i'm really confused about haldi for skin lightening ๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜ณ. I just don't want to get yellow skin with the haldi ๐Ÿ˜†. Please help me if you could! ๐Ÿ˜› Thank you sooo much and God bless....
your friend,
Shikha ๐Ÿ˜Š

Okay so I did some googling and found out that Turmeric/Haldi alone doesn't lighten your skin.I think there are haldi mixtures that do lighten skin though (like creams )...I'm not sure about that. Does haldi make your skin yellow? Yes, it does...if you keep it on for a long time then it does turn your skin yellow.
Umm...I never used turmeric on my skin before so I'm not a 100% sure of my answer being right...I just wrote stuff based on my googling.

Using Haldi alone (the powder) will make your skin yellow ๐Ÿ˜†

You have to make a mixture. Take some besan (gram flour) and put it in a bowl. You have to now put haldi into the bowl (half of besan..so if 3 spoons besan, 1 1/2 spoon haldi). Now, mix some lemon juice into the mixture until it is like a paste. It shouldn't be too runny.

I dont know if it makes you fair, but once i put some on my face (not haldi alone! that would make my face yellow ๐Ÿ˜†) and afterwards there was a nice glow on my face :)

Which is why this is a rasam before marriages, to give the bride/groom a nice glow since back when they didnt have make-up this was the only way to look good for your wedding.
