At times, you realize a person's worth in your life when they're far apart from you.
Yet somehow, before you realize, it becomes too late, and you end up living with that regret for the rest of your life. This poem defines the above mentioned statement. Both the girl's as well as the boy's thoughts are depicted in this Poem.
REGRET
"I look back at you once just before I go,
You're standing there, feeling nothing at all.
Yet my eyes search for that love you hide,
But it's too late, I know, you feel no remorse.
And as I walk farther away from you,
I feel a terrible sting deep within.
Yet I continue walking ahead,
Every step, ignoring the pain,
Until it finally fades away..."
"I look to see if she's gone,
My eyes search the nothingness that surrounds me,
Yet no sign of her; she's gone.
'Why does it hurt?' I try to wonder,
Yet the only answer I find is her.
There's a sting I feel deep within,
And a drop of water falls on my hand.
'It must be raining' I try to convince myself,
Until I feel another drop; I realize I'm crying.
'She's gone' I try to rejoice,
Yet deep within, I feel haunted by the feeling of regret.
Years later I see her laughing,
The sight of which makes me smile,
But then I see her smile at someone else,
Damn, I wish it was me who made her smile!"
