Hiten Tejwani is through with ties in his role as Yug Mittal in Kkavyanjali. Instead, it's the cool, casually stylish liquor baron.
Ergo Vijay Mallya? "Yeah just like him, Yug isn't suited-booted all the time. He's a rich socialite who drops in at the Nanda house only for parties, like Yash Birla," smiles Hiten, shrugging about the 12-13 daily changes that his character requires. "It's more tees, jackets, shirts."
Hiten doesn't consider wearing his own clothes even when Yug Mittal's dressing is more relaxed. "With me doing three dailies, that wouldn't work — I'd be out of clothes!" Instead Ekta Kapoor decides the brief and the executive producer gets the clothes organised.
The jewellery-wearing, handband-sporting Mittal is almost sunshine for Hiten; after all Kyunki's Karan is drenched in drab. "People have been complaining to me about this one grey suit/ black shirt I keep wearing in Kyunki..!" he laughs
