Guru Prasad is a third year student at the same college that Bhavani goes to. Initial indications were that he was among the rowdy elements that you find at colleges, always hanging out with friends outside the classrooms and inciting trouble when possible. He is popularly called 'Annay' by fellow students, and tacitly encouraged everyone to call Bhavani as Anni.
He called for a strike to protest the new rule that those with arrears cannot contest in the elections at the college. A stretch of imagination would make us believe that he has arrears and ergo, is not good at studies. His strike was annulled by Bhavani, with an equally weak lecture to the students.
Guru, impressed with Bhavani's straight forward and simple approach, tries his own straight forward and simple approach and gives her a love letter. Bhavani rejects it right away with her 'college for studies' talk, and he does an about turn and pleads her to be his friend. After some hesistation, she agrees. For a few days we are shown that they are good friends.
Guru sees Ramesh troubling Bhavani at their college and confronts him. After mutual threats, they go their own ways. Shortly there he sees Ramesh troubling Bhavani once again, this time on the streets, and challenges him. Ramesh beats Guru to a pulp and only stops when Bhavani asks him to. Bhavani takes Guru to a hospital and waits on him until his parents arrive.
A few days later, Guru's parents visit C and family to express their gratitude for Bhavani's care of their fallen son.
