Friday's Updates

Ila visits Valli's house. She introduces herself to Valli as Jc's sister and talks very sweetly to everyone. Valli's family is very happy to see their future son-in-law's sister. Valli's mom says she'll prepare some food and drinks but Ila says no need all that, since she only came to visit Valli. Ila praises Valli's beauty and puts flowers in her hair. She also gives Valli a sari saying JC put a lot of effort to get that gift for her. Ila tells Valli to wear that sari in front of JC and she says JC will be stunned - JC asanthu poyiduvaan. Valli says ok and Valli's parents watch all this happily.

Valli's mom comments about how Kula and Kula's daughter seems to be very nice. But Valli's mom also says that she feels a little disappointed that Kula's wife, Muthu, didn't come and visit them for any wedding preparations. Ila tells them not to worry about Muthu; she tells them that Muthu really likes Valli a lot especially because Valli saved Ayya's life. Ila says that her mom will give them a surprise visit one day for sure. Valli's mom hopes so too. Ila very sweetly then says goodbye and leaves. Valli looks delightedly at the sari (red sari with a moss green border) and thinks that it looks beautiful.

Meanwhile, in Ayakudi, Rema comes to Charu and gives her a couple of mangos from their garden. Charu tells Rema not to call it their garden. Charu angrily talks about how they have no claims to the gardens or the house or even any of their belongings other than the clothes they wear. Subbu walks by and listens to the conversation. Charu says that Kula will soon control all the wealth and they will have nothing. Rema tells her that they will not be left with nothing; she lists that they have so many family members they have (appa, amma, periamma, Sara-annan, Ganga-akka...) and they surely will not be left with nothing. Rema then advices her to look on the bright side and talks about how Sara changed his mind about them and now treats them so well.

Rema says that they should be so happy and proud that Sara came to split the wealth and properties with them. Charu replies that even if Sara wants to give them something, Karthik will make sure they don't get it. Subbu walks in then and talks to Charu; she tells Charu not to worry about money.
Suubu says nobody can take Ayya away from them and since they are his family, he will look after their financial needs.

Charu tells Suubu to stop giving excuses. Subbu replies by saying Charu is too young to understand and assures her that the elders of the household will always support them financially. Subbu then tells Charu and Rema to focus on their studies, get good grades and settle down with a good job/family like Ganga did. After that, Subbu brings the two girls with her to eat lunch.

Next day, Jc is driving Valli to her college. Valli is wearing the red sari Ila gave her. Valli and JC exchange looks and smiles throughout the ride but don't talk. Once they reach her college, JC says goodbye and tells her he'll pick her up in the evening. Valli tells him that he doesn't need to come get her in the evening. Valli says that she feels bad that she is treating him like a driver and tells him she will call him if she wants to speak with him.

Then, Valli asks if they can talk right now. Valli asks JC if there is anything different about her today.
JC looks at her and tells her she looks the same. Valli holds the sari mundanai in one hand and walks like a model, spinning around and showing off her sari. JC starts laughing loudly. Valli gets upset and asks him why he is laughing at her. JC teases her by asking her if there is some fashion show in college today; he tells her she catwalks exactly like a model. Valli tells him to stop making fun of her and asks him if the sari looks good on her and if he likes it.

JC asks her what she means by that. Valli thinks JC is still joking. Valli thinks to herself,"I thought he will say something about the sari in the car but he didn't. I ask him outright and he still doesn't get it. Who is he trying to kid?"

JC sees her silently looking at him and tells her to answer the question later because he needs to leave. Valli tells him to wait. Valli asks him why he is pretending like he knows nothing. She tells him that he got her this sari so that's why she asked him how it looked.

JC is shocked to hear this.
JC asks Valli,"I got you a sari? Since when? Are you joking?"
Valli tells Jc," You are the one who is joking around with me."
JC gets a little annoyed.
JC says,"Why would I do that? What kind of relationship do you think we both have?"
Valli replies,"Ask your sister Ilavanji that question."

JC is confused now.
JC asks Valli,"What do mean? What about Ilavanji?"
Valli says,"You got this sari for me, gave it to Ila and told her to give it to me. So, in case you forgot, you can ask her."

JC realizes that Ila is the person behind all of this confusion. As he is thinking silently about this, Valli asks him why he is so silent. JC says that he didn't know Ilavanji visited her house and gave her a sari. Valli says Ila must have wanted to surprise them both. Then, Valli again asks if the sari looks good on her. JC tells her that she looks really nice in that sari. Valli tells him that Ila said the same thing.

Valli adds that Ila told her that JC would be stunned to see her in the sari. Valli jokingly asks him if he is stunned. JC says he is exceptionally stunned (JC thinks to himself that he is exceptionally stunned by his sister's actions.) JC quickly says his goodbyes after that. As Valli leaves, JC realizes Ila is up to some golmaal. JC leaves, thinking angrily about Ila.

Meanwhile, Vetri is walking to his house. He sees the house locked up and gets the key from his neighbour. He goes inside and starts looking for money. (first the saami undiyal and then his mom's purse and then everywhere else) Vetri gets very frustrated as he is searching because there is no money anywhere.

Vetri's mom walks in as he is looking through some boxes. Vetri's mom asks Vetri what he is searching for. Vetri angrily snaps that he is looking for money, what else. Vetri's mom tells him she doesn't have much cash with her right now. Vetri looks more annoyed. Vetri's mom asks how much money he needs and he sarcastically asks her to give him 2 rupees. Vetri's mom takes out a 5 rupee coin and gives him. Vetri yells at his mom and gives her the coin back. He says he needs 2000 rupees not 5 rupees. Vetri's mom is shocked and asks him if 100-200 rupees is ok.

Vetri says that he needs the money to buy proper body-building food to train for the match. He says that all the kabadi players playing in the finals will be training hard right now. He tells his mom that the idli-dosa she makes alone is not enough to sustain his work-outs. He demands that his mom gets the money somehow. Vetri tells his mom that he has to win this match to get a government job like she wants. Vetri leaves the house and his mom wonders unhappily where to go to get 2000 rupees.

Vetri's mom sees the pots and pans hanging in the kitchen and decides to sell those to get money. She sadly packs all the big pots and pans into a sack and carries it down the streets. Rema is parking her cycle at a nearby street corner. When Vetri's mom turns into the street, a cyclist knocks her down. Vetri's mom falls down and all the pots and pans fly out of the sack. Vetri's mom starts crying in pain and yells at the cyclist for driving so carelessly.

Rema notices the accident and runs to help the old lady while the cyclist cycles away. Rema helps Vetri's mum up and picks up all the pots and pans. Rema asks what she is doing with all this heavy things by herself. Vetri's mom dejectedly talks about how she is going to sell all of those pots and pans to get money for her son. Vetri's mom says Vetri wants to eat good food like fish and eggs to build up his body for the match. She also talks about how those kitchenware were given to her by her parents and she too was planning to gift them to her future daughter-in-law but now she has to sell it off. Rema feels bad when she hears the lady's misfortunes.

Rema offers to give the 2000 rupees herself. Vetri's mom says that her son will be very angry if he hears this. But Rema manages to convince her. Rema runs over to grab her purse and takes out 2000 rupees. Rema gives Vetri's mom the money and says she doesn't need to return it till after Vetri gets a job. Rema tries to carry allt he stuff and walk Vetri's mom home. However, Vetri's mom says Rema has done enough as it as and thanks Rema before leaving. Rema watches Vetri's mom sadly.

Vetri seems like a total spoilt brat. The way he angrily yelled at his mom made me so 😡 😡 😡 ... And as for Rema, i cannot believe she was just walking around by herself with more than 2000 rupees in her purse?!!!! And she even left her purse with all the money on the cycle when she went to help Vetri's mom!!!?! That is so unbelivable... 😕 😕

All of Ayya's family is celebrating Ganga's appointment at Ayakudi; even Kula and Muthu are there. Ganga observes Kula and is amazed at how normal he is acting with them even after his murder attempt. Meanwhile, Nacthiya talks about how long it has been seen all of their family has gathered together like this. Kula says that to celebrate this happy ocaasion, he wants to buy Ganga a brand new car. Everyone is happy; Ganga thanks her mama for his affection but says she doesn't want to accept any gifts now that she has become a collector. Ganga apologizes for disappointing him; everyone else looks proudly at Ganga.

Ganga then talks about how she has just started her duties and the first thing she wants to accomplish is to find out about the murder plot on Ayya at the thiruvizha. Kula starts to look a bit afraid and fidgets in his seat. Ganga is the only person who notices this. Ganga says she is wondering whether to start the investigation now or wait till after Rema's marriage.

Rema tells her sister to start right away. Muthu and others agree. Kula looks frustrated now.
Ganga looks at Kula again and then looks away. And then Ganga talks about how she will not care even if relatives and friends are involved in this mystery. Ayya looks proud at every word Ganga is saying; Ila is looking curiously at Ganga. Kula looks a bit more frightened (thiru-thiru stares and all).

Ayya worries that people will talk badly if Collector Ganga first deals with her personal problems. Natchiya says nobody will say anything like that because this is an important issue. Ganga says ok, she will start asap. Gang asks Kula if he has any problems with her investigation. Everybody looks at Kula. Kula is flustered and shouts about how he caught the murderer but that guy escaped him. Kula says, if only the guy never escaped, Kula would surely have killed the guy. He tells Ganga she should find out and do whatever she wants with the people responsible.

Ayya and Muthu are happy to hear that Kula as no objections. Ganga then tells her dad that she recieved some important information about the murder attempt in a letter adressed to her.
Kula looks at Ganga; he is very shocked. Ganga says she will find out the culprits and bring them to court. Ila looks a bit worried.

Ila asks Ganga why she wants to investigate right away if Ayya says people are going to talk bad about her. Ayya says he was just kidding about that; Ganga should do what she feels is right. Vadivu sees Ila's fear and talks about how if she was a collector, she would handcuff the culprit and drag him across the streets. Vadivu says if she had a gun, she would shoot the person. Kula looks very irritated. Ila looks more worried and scared and thanks the gods she is not guilty this time. Ganga and others are amused. JC notices Ila's expression and asks her why she is so scared. JC asks her jokingly if she is one of the culprits. Ila angrily says she will box her brother if he talks like that. Everybody laughs as both siblings bicker.

Ayya says he needs to leave and walks away with JC. Most of the ladies all exit to the kitchen and only Ila and Kula remain. Ila says she is scared of how determined Ganga sounds and asks her dad if he was involved in the murder plan. Kula snaps angrily at her and tells her of course not. Ila says the way he is looking and thinking makes her feel suspicious and worried. Kula angrily tells Ila to stop talking nonsense and tells her to leave. Ila leaves to the kitchen and Kula continues thinking furiously.


Meanwhile, Vetri waits near a roadside pillayar temple with 3 roses in his hand. Rema and 2 of her friends are walking by. Vetri asks Rema to talk with him for a minute. Rema and her friends come closer. Vetri says he wants to thank Rema and offers her the flowers as a thank-you gift. Rema asks why he wants to thank her. Vetri says he will explain once she accepts the flowers.

Rema takes the flowers and Vetri smiles very happily. Vetri tells Rema thanks for accepting his love; he says that he won only because of her love and support. Vetri says that the fact that she came proved to him that she does love him. He says he will be expecting her in the finals and walks off with a big smile before Rema can say a word.

Rema doesn't know how to make him realize she doesn't like him and she only came because of his mom. Rema's friends feel bad for her and wonder what she will do. Rema says that her mind and heart are very clear; she says she will leave it up to God. Rema leaves the flowers in front of the pillayar statue and prays before leaving.

Next scene, Muthukarrupan (Mk) is shaving his hair and mustache away. Kula comes to visit a completely mottai Mk and asks him about his new hairstyle. Mk says that he will not grow hair on his face and head till he finally kills Ayya. Kula is amused by this. Kula tells Mk about Ganga's investigation and says they have to do something before Ganga catches them all. Kula instructs Mk to go see Ganga and tell her that him and his brothers were responsible for the attack, that he will still continue to try to kill Ayya and anyone else who gets in his way. Kula says Mk must challenge Ganga to try and stop him if she can.

Mk worries that Ganga will use his words as the proof to arrest him. Kula says Ganga will not arrest Mk because Ganga suspects Kula. And even if Ganga tries to arrest Mk, Kula says he will take care of Mk. Kula boasts that he will start riots and kalavarams and get Mk free again, so Ganga will not be able lay her hands on Mk. Mk decides to go see Ganga immediately and tells Kula to stuck to the plan in the case that Mk is arrested by Ganga. Kula once again stares off to the corner, thinking while Mk leaves.

Next scene, Ganga's senior and some workers' union members are there along with the head clerk who was previously slapped by Ganga. When Ganga comes in, Ganga's senior says that the union sangam people heard about the incident yesterday from they are unhappy that she slapped a worker. The sangam people say that if Ganga apologizes to the head clerk, they will take no further action. Ganga says she will apologize for not slapping him more than once. Ganga explains the situation and says that she refuses to apologize for her actions. Then, Ganga calls her assistant to invite some media persons inside.

Ganga explains the situation to the media/ press reporters. Ganga also shows a MMS video proof of the whole incident, and how the clerk begged her for forgiveness. Ganga said that she only let him go unpunished because of his wife. The senior collector and the union members are all very shocked. The sangam members apologize for misunderstanding the situation and say that they are going to suspend him from their union for the whole year. Ganga says she too is suspending the clerk from work for the next 2 months. The union members leave.

The head clerk again tries to apologize to Ganga but she does not care. The press reporters warn the clerk to apologize to the Thasildar's wife or else they would publish the article with his name and details. The clerk then tries to ask the senior collector to talk to Ganga. The senior Collector says there is nothing he can do and walks away. The clerk follows him. The reporters praise Ganga for her honesty and sincerity and say that she has their support. The reporters exit and the screen freezes on Ganga...
