Nothing extraordinary here. Pretty much average singing. Infact I enjoyed Abhijeet's singing more.

A beautiful song and beautiful piturization for this song. Again a sweet and melodious voice from Shreya! But I agree with Brahmabul that there is nothing extraordinary in this song! Its just straight forward singing with very little variation. Abhijeet did a fabulous job co singing with Shreya. However I also felt that he had a lot more variations than Shreya did. She had the right energy for this song which is always a positive factor for any singing. But Abhijeet also overshadowed her a bit for this particular song. Some better Shreya songs for this round are:

Great singing by Shreya Ghosal!

A lot of different variations of dance you have to sing in this song. Starting off with a indian dance song, and then a more 70s flair dancing type singing. They were pretty much completely different songs. Shreya sang both segments well. She was great throughout. She did a great job on the high pitches "Kaisaaay" and obviously has great voice quality.

She also had great expressions, and if you listen closely, she added some taans while she was singing some of those lines, classical style. So that was also nicely done.

Overall, excellent voice quality, great expressions, and great variation and singing in general gives Shreye a great performance. I'm stuck between a 8 and a 9, but since I gave Sadhna and Chithra a 9 this round, and I think their performance was a little better...

Actually, with all the small touches she added, though it's not as good as Chithra or Sadhan's performance, Shreya deserves some extra credit for those. I just listened to it once more. So another point added.

Did you know? Pyarelal (last week's musical mentor on II5) helped out with arranging this song to give it the '70s feel! And Abhijeet was just fantabulous in this song - love this guy's voice!

Agreed with Brahmabul here - the singing wasn't particularly amazing. Especially given the 'takkar' we have from Kavitaji and Sadhanaji who performed much more difficult songs before the advent of pitch-correction technologies.

However, it was still very well sung > there were some well handled sequences as ssk pointed out.

Great song, with some great singers! This song exemplifies the strength and throw of Shreya Ghosal, even though my volume was at it's lowest, her voice was coming crystal clear thorugh the speakers. I don;t think she missed a single note and her synchronization with Abhijit was fantastic! A 10!

I dont understand but I think the judging level is being far too strict only for Alka & Shreya, which is really sad. Giving them less points saying that they have even better songs then this, isnt good reason, I mean arent we supposed to listen to this song & judge her according to her singing in this song?

Dhoom tana is such a fabulous song, though its not that extraordinary or very difficult as such, but if u listen to Shreya's beautiful voice in the song & concentrate on her singing, u will definitely feel it deserves a 10.  Though abhijeets singing was also superb in the song, but shreya clearly steals the limelight.

It deserves a 10 for sure!
