Sandip Soparkar and Jesse Randhawa
Who have found a common passion in dance, don't seem to agree when it comes to food
I am
Sandip: A pure non- vegetarian. I eat non- veg three-four times a day, 365 days a year.
Jesse: I am a pure vegetarian.
I begin my day with
Sandip: I like to drink a huge glass of plain warm water and have some soaked dried fruits (anjeer, almonds, black kismis, badi sounf, and dhaniya)
Jesse: Lots of water.
Lunch is
Sandip: Usually what Jesse decides. It mostly consists of dal, curds, one or two vegetarian dishes, salad, multi-grain roti, rice and boiled chicken specially for me and our son Arjun.
My evening snack is
Sandip: A glass of fresh juice made from carrot and bottle gourd on alternate days and a bowl of fruits like papaya, watermelon and musk melon only.
Jesse: Fruits or if I am tempted then samosa or Maggi noodles.
Dinner is
Sandip: Again Jesse decides. It's mostly like lunch but a clear soup is also added.
My fitness regimen is
Sandip: Rumba at JG's fitness centre four times a week.
Jesse: I do kick-boxing and karate three times a week. I practise Latin ballroom dancing four times a week
My idea of a romantic meal is
Sandip & Jesse: Our home balcony which has an amazing sea view and makes us feel as if the moon is just next to us. We love to drink Ambrula, a South African drink, with some great food.
On our first date
Sandip: We ate Jesse's favourite Thai food.
Sunday lunch is
Sandip & Jesse: Halwa, puri or kheer puri for Arjun.
My childhood memory of food
Sandip: Besan ke ladoo. My neighbour would make such awesome ladoos that I would eat them by the dozen. Recently Jesse made them for me for Diwali and my god she is better than anyone in the world.
Jesse: Mom's malai ki sabzi. My entire family relishes it.
My fridge always has
Sandip: Chocolates, chocolates and more chocolates.
Jesse: Misti doi, from Kolkata or Sweet Bengal, Mumbai.
My favourite cook
Sandip: My mom. It's been years since she has cooked but her chicken and mutton stew were to die for.
Jesse: My cook Chottu at my mom's house. He makes awesome sambhar, better than any Udipi restaurant.
I can cook
Sandip: I am an MBA in marketing and a hotel management graduate, I can cook everything but I enjoy baking cakes. My favourites are Pineapple Upside Down and Black Forest Cake.
Jesse: Rajma.
My favourite...
Cuisine: Sandip: Indian and Mughlai.
Jesse: Italian and Thai.
Vegetable: Sandip: Bhindi. I can eat it at every meal.
Jesse: Brinjals, especially baingan ka bharta.
Comfort food: Sandip: A piece of chocolate.
Jesse: Idli it's safe and healthy.
Spice: Chillies.
Kitchen Appliance: Microwave.
Comfort food: Dark chocolate, bread pudding, blueberry cheesecake and muffins.
Beverage: Iced tea.
Poison: I don't drink alcohol.
