Since Asha is a common favourite, this thread is for asha only.
as i had mentioned b4, i hated d actress ashwini kalsekar because of her negativity in serials... bt i never realised she acted in cid.... thanx to d re-runs i discoverd an actress wt a huge potential.
and i loved asha in watever she did in all cases. she s d overall rounder-tough bt sensitive, firm yet flexible, logical, etc etc.
d mindblowing case dat i really loved ws d case where she stole d show and where acp despite his blindness showed his wisdom and power.
i hv forgottn d name of d case bt wen i saw asha's role in ds, my level of respect for her reached a great height. i thnk its called d dying statement.
let me gv a brief preview- i feel like writing ds case in details becuz it touched my heart to d core.
d scene starts where d cid team along wt salunkhe bring the blind acp to a restaurant, to gv him a treat owing to the doctor's statement dat acp wud regain his eyesight. asha suddenly notices d husband of a very close friend. d woman wt ds guy has her back towards asha. asha excuses herself from her team and rushes to d grl. bt it ws a mistake- d grl isnt her friend. d husband introduces her as a friend.
later asha pays a visit to her best friend at d grl's inlaws. d saas avoids her d moment she hears asha is frm cid. she greets her friend wt all her love and energy. bt smhow her friend feels uncomfortable. d 1st step of suspicion overcomes asha. wen d husband enters and stops looking at her, asha felt smthng ws wrong. she left telling her frnd to let her know if any thng goes wrong. her frnd assures her she s happy bt asha s nt sure.
asha and abhi-daya-sudhakar-freddy go to meet acp. ( wat i really liked here is dat even after acp left cid on account of his blindness in d prev epi, d team dat loved him still came to him for advice and company). anyway, asha tells acp abt her suspicion. acp tells her to wait and watch.
d next day asha and daya take acp to d doctor's chamber for his regular appointment. there asha sees her frnd- bruised all over, extremely timid and shivering. asha s shocked. but her frnd and d servant accompanying her assure asha dat she ws fine, just fell in d bathroom.
asha didnt belive her. again d team s at acp's house. acp advises asha to talk to d couple. he told her dat ds s a family affair. she shud approach d family in two steps- 1st as a frnd then as a cop. he also tells her dat he s wt her. he gvs his own similar experience where he failed to protect his frnd's wife bt had punished d frnd wt great severity.
the epi then starts showing asha's emotional yet powerful side-
she comes to her frnd's place in a taxi. telling d driver to wait she knocks on d door. suddenly she hears a loud terrified sream- her frnd's voice.
asha, d servant and d taxi driver hollar at d door. then they break open d door to c d inlaws standing there gaping at them like stupid oxen. d source of d screaming sound came from d frnd's locked room. they break open d door to c her hanging, gasping for breath. they quickly set her dwn on d floor. by then d husband comes out of nowhere. asha tells d driver to stand in d room while she gets a glass of water and calls d ambulance. she returns to find d door closed, d driver and servant outside d door.
she breaks open d door and screams at d inlaws. then she tells them nt come forward and bends to her dying frnd, begging her to say wat happened, whether d inlaws had dobe ds to her. one look at her husband and d frnd denies any wrong- she jst hung herself. she then dies. asha screams refusing to believe her frnd. she starts accusing d husband b4 rushing out. she calls abhi sir.
d next scene, d cid team s investigating. asha tells everythng to abhi-daya (who r fuly wt her bt r nt convinced because of d dying statement f d grl). abhi- daya interrogate around. wen d husband tells them to ask d witness (taxi driver) abt d dying statement, it seems clear enough that it ws a suicide.
bak at d forensic lab salunkhe gvs his verdict dat it ws simple hanging, she wsnt hung bt probably did it herslf- because of d force f d rope it looked like a suicide.
d next day asha comes to acp for help. (our)beloved acp analyses d situation. d team tells him everythng and acp thnks maybe d grl gave an accurate statement. however asha convinces him of her suspicion. acp advises dat if she feels it s murder he s wt her. he asks abhi to start investigating.
the epi started gaining a tempo- asha kept accusing d family. d scene of crime ws investigated. all possibilities were explored, each family member ws called to d bureau, d servant ws interrogated separately. even d grl's parents were called who definitely agreed wt asha. bt in vain everythng pointed to suicide. they felt d servant ws holding bk smthng and even after daya's threats he tells them it ws suicide. abhi and daya gv up telling asha it ws fruitless- no proper evidence, no witness.
bt here comes d power of acp's wisdom and action. he s nt sm1 to lye low! he ws convinced by asha's conviction. so while visiting d doctor, he asked around. he came to knw dat yes d grl ws having trouble wt d inlaws.

daya and asha pick up d servant and tell him his dauf=ghter is held by acp. d servant s scared and crying. he s taken to acp's house. there d entire team s waiting. he asks for his daughter. d daughter s brought to him. he bursts into tears as acp tells him dat since he s a father he shud b able to understand another father's grief- d grl's parents r brought in. d father begs d servant wt tears to tell d truth. d servant breaks dwn under ds pressure and asks for forgiveness frm d father.
he tells d acp dat yes he saw frm d window hw d grl ws forced to hang herself, so dat d husband can b freed and cn marry hs grlfrnd.
that night asha and d rest arrive to arrest d inlaws. asha gives them a wonderful verbal bashing. d servant s proclaimed d witness on whose verdict ds arrest s made. abhi gvs d patent phaansi dialogue and accuses them. d epi ends wt asha's tigress expression, speaking of triumph.
