I didnt know this until Rani told me about it!! Thank you very much, Rani.. If not for Rani, a bunch of us would have never known this!!! So happy for Tashu!!! 👏👏⭐️⭐️ She carries a lot of achievements with her, and this is just one of them. She is also the First Runner Up in BW-International, that was held in the U.K., and she also made it to the "DesiClub.com's Top 50 Coolest Desis of 2009"..

Nikkitasha, Komal US Boogie Woogie champs

A Correspondent in New York | July 18, 2007 17:29 IST

Nikkitasha Marwaha of Washington, DC, and Komal Sharma of Illinois emerged winners in the United States in the senior and junior categories respectively in the Boogie Woogie Chalo America international dance competition sponsored by Sony Entertainment Television Asia. They will represent the United States in the international finals.

The US finals were conducted last month at the Royal Albert's Palace in Fords, New Jersey, and were presented by the Federation of Indian Association in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Nikkitasha Marwaha of WashingtonMarwaha was the junior category winner from the US, but lost to India in the international finals, in the first round of competitions held in 2003. She entered the contest in 2004 but did not qualify at the local level. She tried again as a senior level competitor and succeeded.

This spring, contests were held in eight locations, around the country. From the competitors, junior and senior finalists were chosen in the state level to move on to the US finals. Two were chosen from California.

From the eight state finalists, the judges, Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill and designer and dancer Misha Patel, had a difficult task of selecting the winners.

'We had an amazing amount of talent at the competition,' said Rajan Singh, SET Asia's executive vice president for international business. Komal Sharma of Illinois'It's wonderful to see that today's youth is still so connected to Bollywood and Indian pop music, even though they are spread throughout the world.'

The senior runner up was Kruti Shah of Los Angeles; the junior runner up was Luv Karia of Connecticut.

The other finalists were: Junior: Arnav Boppudi of Washington, DC; Shilpa Dias of Texas; Ananya Kar of Michigan; Ananya Ranjan of Los Angeles; Sindhu Ravuri of San Francisco; and Sarena Maya Shah of New Jersey.

Senior: Vaibhavi Bhavsar of New Jersey; Chinmayi Ghatrazu of Texas; Khushboo Mittal of Illinois; Anisha Patel of Connecticut; Margie Patel of Michigan; and Nisha Umesh of San Francisco.

Our basic point we want to make is that even Tashu is a winner of BW just like Dharmesh. And she's equally as good! Yes DID & BW are both on different levels! But people need to recognize the girl's got talent! Not many people know about the BW thing because a) they never followed BW or b) there was never so much hype about her winning like their is of Dharmesh! We like to keep everything less hyped! But you just can't make the argument that Dharmesh is ahead because of BW! Because even Tashu is a winner! And she's been a part of Boogie Woogie more than once!

Tashu carries with her a lot of accomplishments out of dance too!
Miss India Worldwide 2009
Defeated 24 contestants from all over the globe and floored the judges with her classical Indian fusion dance.
Given her dancing talents, Bollywood certainly beckons this communications student from Northwestern University.
: Marwaha is an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer and represented USA at the Boogie Woogie International dance competition in London. She stood as the first runner up. She epitomizes Madhuri Dixit.

Does Mr. Dharmesh make the list? That's what I thought! (Nothing against him, just proving a point)!

Just to name a few!

I liked tashu from the beginning of DID2. There's no doubt the girl's got talent.

Of course, Dharmesh can't match her with a lot of stuff. But I have to commend Dharmesh on being a talented dancer, just as talented if not more than Tashu. Dharmesh comes from a humble background and has taught dance himself with little formal training unlike Tashu. So, there's no point comparing the two imho.

Even though its a fact i don't support Dharmesh, i have to admit that the guy's got talent much to be appreciated coming from a poor background with not many resources to support him and things like that which make him unique in his own way.
