i am tired of the SS topic...😆

Why are NRI kids always depicted negatively in most hindi films..? 🤔

Why do some Indian kids & adults (the ones that recently immigrated) show coldness towards the American born desi kids..? 🤔

Well give me an example. Honestly, it maybe because it is amusing to see someone with an Indian origin acting like the arrogant and uncorteous foreigners.

You tell things the way it is exactly. But there are some who are very well behaved and humble too. It is sad if culture is lost and generally culture makes one a good person I think; of course certain setbacks on culture has to be improved upon as we go along.

I think movies never show the reality and they exaggerate things. For example they always show 1 hero vs 100 villians, etc.

Moreover, we cannot generalize things.

But, what about if we say that there are some difficulties faced by NRI kids?

The difficulties are due to cultural transition. From one generation to next, there is a kind of rope pulling between the Indian culture and the foreign culture. Foreign culture is needed to integrate with the foreign society, but at the same time people feel the need to preserve the Indian culture because they love it.

Its about cultural identity.

Yes they have delicate stomachs especially when it comes to chennai masala and curry. It is like swallowing burning charcoal.😆

i think it has to do with NRI's losing there culture and morals and trying to fit into western world

ppl born or immigrate to uk or usa

are stuck in between esp kids coz they dnt have a proper identity

westerners wud laugh at them thinking ah look there's a asian kid trying to be wannabe westernised kid

and from asian pov there family think ah the kids are to westernised in ways

like for example wudnt know there mother tongue fluently or have proper manner n respect for elders n family

Its not only NRI kids but kids born to parents with inter religious or intercaste marriages, rural -urban migrated family also face similar problem. My feelings are that as long as these kids know that their hearts R in the right place they need not bother too much about what ppl think. Anyway theres no way one can please everyone. So just do what U feel is best & enjoy yourself. Life is too short to keep worrying about such little things 😆
