The living legend himself, Shankar Mahadevan. As Himesh puts it, "Hindustan ki Naak". He is not only one of the finest music composers, but also one of the finest singers in bollywood. Him and his partners, Esaan and Loy are great at music directing and have had countless amount of hits. Some of the best music over the past decade has come from them. Including, Kal Ho na Ho, Dil Chata Hai, Bunty aur Babli, and the list is just too long to name. So many great hits. No doubt one of the finest music directors here. They have 1 National Music Direction Award, and 2 Filmfare Music Direction Awards. So they are well recognized and respected by everyone.

Not only is he a great music composer, but also one of the finest and most talented singers. He is extremely versatile and is able to sing emotional songs, to classical, to rock. Just amazing. Excellent voice quality, and lots of singing ability. He's won 2 national playback singing awards over the past decade. The only other male singer who did that last decade would be Udit Naryan. Just an amazing talent overall.

And then he also is a great human being. Always is smiling, and always is positive.

I think instead of arguing and fighting all the time we should sometimes appreciate.

We all know that Shankar is an extremely talented singer and MD. But what I admire most about him is his courage to divert from the norm and do something that he really wanted to do. Not many people know that Shankar was originally a software engineer and used to work in Oracle Corporation. Most of us have grown up with our parents wanting us to concentrate on our education and pursue a degree. We go with the flow. We get educated. We work in our specialized field. Many of us have secret dreams of pursuing some sort of art, but because of the trend in our society and the need to make money, we put everything aside and continue to do what we do even though we don't enjoy it. Shankar is one individual who has broken away from this trend to pursue his love for music. And I'm so glad he did. Thanks to him we have got to hear exceptional music from movies like "Kal Ho Naa Ho", "Dil Chahta hai" and "Taare Zameen Par". I know not of a single mother who is not moved to tears with his "Ma". And who could forget his "Breathless"?

He will surely be remembered as a legend in years to comeπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.
