A lot of people change their name either for personal reasons, or they've been using a nickname or for luck. I.E. propular tv actress changed her name from Natassha to Anita (Kkavyanjali girl, I think Anita is her real name), it brought her luck as she wasn't doing that great with the Natassha name. I'm just guessing, but I think he changed his name because he has changed so much in appearance and probably wants a fresh start. I know he has changed his appearance almost everytime for different shows.
