Vijay Prakash deserves more

My all-time favourite SRGM(P) contestant is Vijay Prakash.

I'm normally quite bad at deciding on my favourites. But as for favourite SRGM(P) contestant, my mind is very clear, for a change. His timbre -- the gravity of his voice is the decisive factor.

It's been ten long years, he is still to gain a footing in Bombay film music. Although AR Rahman has used him in a couple of songs (his voice can be heard in the 'jai ho' refrain), I feel he deserved more.

I cannot think of any modern day singer singing this song any better. I have kept in mind all the leading singers of today.

Then, compare VP with the likes of Mika and Neeraj Shridhar. It'll again remind you that fame, awards and recognition have often very little to do with talent, and vice versa. Vijay Prakash is still a small-time singer.

Vijay Prakash is nowadays busy as a judge in Suvarna channel's music competition. He was earlier a compere on Zee Kannada's SRGM for married ladies about two years back. Fabulous  voice and pleasant personality. He is not totally neglected, here are some of his songs listed on musicindiaonline.com

I don't know it's time or ARR that has tampered with his original divine voice😒. Weirdly VP is sounding pretty much like ARR!😲

Still Vijay Prakash is wonderful.

Thanks MG for finding this link...VP did superb job...His voice has the depth and classical base is superb...He did not sound like ARR to MOI but each one hears differently...Unique...
