The Wedding- why it was different

This was a PriDa wedding episode that we have all been waiting for so wanted to put down what I thought was different about the wedding without talking about anything else that happened today. Just PriDa. Pure PriDa. Eventhough it didn't take up the same sort of time that we wanted it to I loved it. I loved every moment and I've watched it several times so far.

I loved

1) that it was personal (at all levels) despite Pri thinking through his past. It's natural for him to do that. We can't blame him. Felt like I was part of a family wedding. Personal.

2) the song choice. It was a soulful melody instead of loud jarring typical wedding music. It made the PriDa wedding all the more personal. I didn't understand the lyrics but it still brought goosebumps. Personal.

3) GauCha. Period.

4) that it wasn't full of light teasing moments. Yes, the garland scene was nice but I am glad it was the only light moment. This is PriDa getting married. That's deep. nothing light about it. PriDa Married. The Sindoor. The tying of the Mangal Sutra. The pheras. These are deep. I am glad it wasgiven the respect it deserved in the PriDa equation.

5)that Prithvi and Damini are PriDa now. Officially. A sense of security that nothing can come between the two of them now. Nothing. (wishful thinking may be)

6) that Damini wasn't sweeping the floor with her eyelashes and being a typical tele indian over the top shy bride. I liked that she looked into his eyes all the way through with an expression that meant that she was serious about this. That she's all in now. All in.

Wish he was all in too.

Edit : As Sarah's pointed out, please add to this list. That way we can have a long list of things we loved about this special wedding.

LOVELY post, Doop..Absolutely LOVED it..And with you on everything..The wedding was special in its own way, and mainly because it was PriDa's wedding..

Yes, it did look like a family wedding, there was a warm feeling to the whole thing..BTW, In addition to the beautiful melody of the song, it has lovely lyrics too..

GauCha are well, GauCha, they can even make us fall in love with inanimate objects associated with themselves,😆 this was tau a whole wedding..How could we not love it!! 😍 *smiles*

Oh yes! how I love the fact that Damini remained Damini Gujral and wasn't blushing just because a bride is supposed to..Loved her confidence and obvious joy..

1) Because of the sweetest smile on her face throughout the whole thing..It was full of pure bliss and meaningful promises, like she would go to the end of the world to keep him happy..And we know Prithvi isn't there yet because of his revenge, but I can't wait for the day he gets there, and can't wait for the day he is into her even more than she is into him..

2) Because of this one look he had on his face at some point in time..Don't know how to describe it..He looked smitten, blissful and totally taken by her beauty..At that moment, she was his whole world..

Loved this wedding...Prida wedding because:

1. the way damini took the lead at the last phera was so apt and symbolic of her future role in her husband's life...yes damini will always be the reason for maksad's ultimate disposal...atleast i want to believe so!

2. damini teared up upon touching her mother's feet at the end when the panditji officially announced that the wedding was complete

3. Now Damini is not Damini Gujral, the stubborn hitler-like woman that everyone feared....Now she is Damini Saxena.....a woman who knows perfectly how to love, care, and handle her relations..be it her husband or her own family. yeah a tough coconut with sweet and soft inside......that's damini. ummm actually that's prida!😉

4. Prithvi still addressed ela gujral as Elaji.....don't know why but I somehow like it that way at least till he knows of her innocence.

5. the scene when avni was tying the auspicious knot between the prithvi's pink cloth and damini's red cloth....that was a lovely scene and Avni was looking so happy and pretty wearing the most awesome smiles of all!


6. prithvi and damini's eye expressions throughout the whole ceremony.....these two are the only people i know who can emote so beautifully with their eyes! Amazing!

7. last but not the least..........because they are Mr.and Mrs. Saxena now.......yipeeeeee!!!!😆

After reading your, Sarah and Krup's wonderfully written post, i seriously dont have anything to say, which is really different, but for your post sake i just wanna say that:

Great post Doop – yeah the Prida wedding was different – it had to be after all its Prida right. Everything about them has to be different.

Loved Pri – besotted with his wife to be while in the mandap – a scene very short just a flash where we see him just looking and looking at Damz.

Loved his gentle tease during the garland ceremony – can it be more gentle and loving ?

Loved Damz as she bowed her head to accept the garland – complete surrender. From Damini Gujral ??? Thats something Pri – pl remember.

Loved him during the sindoor – wow he was over the moon – can anything be more perfect ?.

Loved the background song – aptly chosen to depict the storyline. Brought tears to my eyes.

Loved Damz – for looking like a million dollar bride. Her smile reflected her love and happiness - content and peace. She was on the top of the world.

Loved GK and CS for making this moment w'ful with their superb acting.

Loved the CVs for making the marriage different from the usual.

Loved everything about the wedding.

Just going through all the lists here, gives me this warm and mellow feeling..

As I said in Sarah's post.. I loved Damini's eyes, throughout, and how at the time of sindoor and mangalsutra she delicately bowed her head, giving her full consent to Prithvi to go ahead..

I love this girl, seriously.. I dont know why, but right now, the marriage was more Damini than Prida to me, ofcourse it has to be Prida to make this wedding happen, but it was Damini who carried it off so beautifully.. Prithvi was well, lost.. barring occasionally, when he looked at Damini.. and then too, I felt his mind was not in it, it just might be my perception.

And I say this at the cost of spoiling such a nice thread.. 😕

Nevertheless, they are officially Prida now, briiliant one there Doop, so nothing more is important.. 😊
