Patients with MPD experience their altersas distinct individuals possessing different names, histories, and personality traits. It is not unusual for MPD patients to have alters of different genders, sexual orientations, ages, or nationalities. The average MPD patient has between two and 10 alters, but some have been reported to have over one hundred."

here's my homework...400 words i think 😆

*opens eyes* Sara lay curled up next to the wall. She scanned the room for any sign of human presence and then sat up to lean against the wall.

"Why cant I remember wht happened?" she muttered to herself.

*Next day* *in her friend's office who was also a Therapist (John)*

Sara was silent for a few seconds then bit her lips. "This is going to sound completely fatuous but I'm not lying...i..i can hear voices. I remember everything until I went to bed. I even remember falling asleep. The next thing I know I'm waking up in a stranger's house all bruised up!"

"I see.." said John . "Would you be open to hypnosis? I can take you back to last night...and all the other times."

"are you sure that will work?"

"I've been doing it for many years" assured John

*After half an hour* *Sara hypnotised*

Sara stiffened in her chair..she spoke in a completely different voice: "Sara, will not listen to wht you say!"

"I'm here to help her." Said John.

But the alter was recalcitrant.

"Who are you?" demanded John

"I'm her Guardian"

"I see..then how come she's bruised?"

Her facial expressions hardened.

"I donot have to answer you!"

"Did you hurt her?"

"Don't you understand? I had to stop her! she wouldn't listen!! At times she's out of control…so I had to punish her for her peccant behaviour."

John knew he had to be careful...

"Why are you her guardian?"

"I was created because she can't protect herself."

"Can't you explain to Sara who you are?"

"She doesn't listen. She sees us as separate."

"There are more of you?" *shocked*

"Yes. Sara has named us according to our jobs."

"Can I speak to another?"

"Not today."

Before John could say another word Sara's body stiffened, then became relaxed.

"Sara?"

The alter was gone.

"NO!" Sara started to cry uncontrollably. "Don't call them again! Please..please…" *covering her face*

"Its ok Sara. You don't have to be frightened.You're safe. See…they're gone."

A wave of relief washed Sara.

"Would you like to drink water?"

She was thirsty…so the the question of having water was very apropos.

Once Sara was calm…John asked: "Do you remember anything?"

"No. I don't remember anything after you hypnotized me."

John noted the missing time frame…she didn't remember talking to the Guardian.

"Exactly how many are they?" thought John.
